Method and apparatus for a network-based mask defect printability analysis system

InactiveUS6578188B1Minimal additional costCode for implementing the network server is extremely robustImage enhancementNanotechThe InternetSimulation
A mask defect printability simulation server provides simulations, one-dimensional analysis, and reports to multiple clients over a wide area network, such as the Internet. This network-based simulation server allows a client to leverage a core of highly-trained engineers. Additionally, the network-based simulation server can be easily supported since only a single source for the tools associated with the simulation server is necessary for multiple clients. A client can access the simulation server using a standard personal computer having a browser, thereby eliminating the need for client to maintain an expensive database for the server. Finally, in the network-based simulation server, multiple users can view the same mask defect image and provide real-time comments to each other as simulation and analysis are performed on the defect image, thereby encouraging problem solving and decision-making dialogue among the users.

Channel wavelength assignment with transient reduction

In an automatically switched optical network operating according to a wavelength plan, the wavelengths are assigned to an optical path based on availability, performance and SRS wavelength coupling reduction. First, the wavelengths are grouped in static bins based on their reach versus cost performance, and each bin assumes a ΔQ of a middle wavelength. Then, the bins are moved into subsets of dynamic bins, constructed using bin constraints that account for the particulars of the respective optical path. The path is characterized taking into account the wavelength currently accessing at the end nodes, and the wavelength tandeming through the end nodes. Wavelength selection starts with the bins that satisfy the maximum number of constraints, and the wavelengths are checked sequentially against wavelength constraints; relaxed constraints are also applied when it is not possible to exactly satisfy one or more constraints.

Swing-out manhole cover

A swing-out manhole cover assembly having at least one ramp to facilitate opening and closing the cover. The manhole cover assembly includes a frame, a cover, a swing assembly and at least one ramp. As the cover swings open away from the frame about the swing assembly, the ramp imparts linear translation to the cover separating the cover from the frame slightly. As the cover swings back to close the manhole cover, the ramp reverses the linear translation and the cover returns back to the frame. A spring may be included to bias the cover in the closed position.

Combined vertical and horizontal tillage with hardpan penetration

An exemplary best mode embodiment and various alternative embodiments are shown for combining horizontal and vertical tillage to solve both weed control and penetration of compaction layer. In one exemplary embodiment a large colter or tine is disposed behind a plow, sweep, concave disc, or other horizontal tillage implement to slice the soil to penetrate any compaction created by the implement. In another exemplary embodiment, a colter with lateral blades penetrates a surface compaction layer, chops crop residue and hoes and levels the soil all in one pass with one implement. We have discovered that a deeper-penetrating tailing ground slicing implement behind a horizontal tillage device results in full root depth for a stronger crop and better yields with normally deep-rooted crops such as corn and the like.
