An apparatus and a method for cooling and/or sealing a gas turbine by selectively boosting the pressure of air extracted at a lower extraction stage is provided. An in-line continuous flow liquid-gas separator-pump includes a housing, a rotor, a plurality of tubular flow passages, and a plurality of gas flow passages. The rotor includes a rotor first end, a rotor second end, an outer surface, and an inner surface that defines an inner chamber in fluid communication with the purge gas outlet. The tubular flow passages are formed in the rotor and extend between the rotor first end and the rotor second end. Each tubular flow passage includes a fluid inlet that is disposed adjacent the rotor first end and in fluid communication with the liquid/gas inlet, and a fluid outlet that is disposed adjacent the rotor second end and is in fluid communication with the liquid outlet. A system is set forth to increase the capacity of an LNG-based liquefier in a cryogenic air separation unit wherein, in a low production mode, the nitrogen that is fed to the LNG-based liquefier consists only of at least a portion of the high pressure nitrogen from the distillation column system while in a high production mode, a supplemental compressor is used to boost the pressure of at least a portion of the low pressure nitrogen from the distillation column system to create additional (or replacement) feed to the LNG-based liquefier. The invention includes a method and system for generating electricity using a drive for the electrical generator that is powered by an engine that uses high pressure hot gases produced by combustion of a fuel and an oxygen bearing gas, using at least a portion of the electricity generated to power manufacturing plant equipment and using the waste hot exhaust gases from the heat engine, such as a gas turbine, with or without a heat exchanger, in an oven in which the mat is carried through continuously on a belt, drum or with other conventional means to dry the wet fibrous mats. Optionally the fibrous mats can contain a binder and the hot waste gases can be optionally used to cure a binder.

A method and system for boosting pipeline gas pressure in a low-pressure gas pipeline in which a supplemental gas supply pipe in fluid communication with a supplemental pipeline gas supply is provided to an interior of a gas pipeline containing a pressurized pipeline gas, where the pressure of the supplemental pipeline gas supply is greater than the pressure of the pressurized pipeline gas. The gas pressure differential between the pressurized pipeline gas and the supplemental pipeline gas supply pressure is measured. When the pressure differential reaches a certain predetermined set value, supplemental pipeline gas is provided from the supplemental pipeline gas supply through the supplemental gas supply pipe into a pipeline space between the gas pipeline and the supplemental gas supply pipe. The flow of supplemental pipeline gas is halted upon achievement of a second predetermined set differential pressure.

A prewhirl type inlet casing for inducing a spiral stream in fluid comprising a suction passage arranged on an upstream side, being orthogonal to a rotary shaft of fluid machinery, and an internal passage connected to the suction passage, the internal passage being formed in a spiral shape so as to induce a swirl stream orthogonal to the rotary shaft in the fluid. A guide vane is provided in the fluid passage in the inlet casing. The guide vane has a rectifying function capable of distributing flow rates in the swirl stream of the fluid in the internal passage between the swirl center side and the swirl outer peripheral side and has a rectifying function capable of causing the fluid to deflect into the swirling direction of the swirl stream induced by the internal passage. With these rectifying functions, a rectified swirl stream can be easily created in the in internal passage so as to prevent occurrence of a deviation of a cavitations inducing zone. With this configuration, it is possible to effectively prevent occurrence of the deviation of the cavitations inducing zone in order to aim at simplifying the configuration of the internal passage.

Discharge of the cooked food product completes the cook cycle. The cooked food can then be deposited from the strainer onto a serving vessel.
