System and method for agent assisted information retrieval

Online information resources are searched. The system acts an assistant to the user during the search of online resources by pursuing search paths that the user did not recognize, or was unable to pursue due to time or skill limitations. After constructing a preliminary model of the user's information need the system identifies a number of unexplored leads and pursues them with a user-defined level of autonomy. Pursuing leads may involve the exploitation of any number of heuristics through automated advanced query construction and Web crawling methods. Documents discovered during the search are evaluated for likely utility and presented to the user. Both explicit feedback and inferences drawn from the user's interaction with online information are used to continually refine the model of the user's information need thereby redirecting the search system.

Web-content aware automatic call transfer system and process for mobile users and operators

The Web customer contact system is based on distributed execution of service logic programs that can be dynamically altered based on changing business needs. The distributed and dynamic program modification makes the Web customer contact system scalable and customization to the most demanding business operation needs. For example, existing workflow based GUI programming tool, which only support centralized specification, down load and execution of routing rules for incoming calls in a contact center. The new system WCC system can allow user to specify a set of service logic program (SLP) can be dynamically attached to any distributed “addressable entities” in the WCC system. The addressable entities can be a user, an agent, an email box, a work group, IVR system, or a department web site. The addressable entities can be located anywhere that can be reached by internet address (an URL or other types of identities). The SLP associated with the addressable entities can be dynamically downloaded from the “home” location of the SLP. The SLP allows a business to define the way of handling customer's messages such as call, chat and email in a flexible and programmable way using an open specification interface such as, XML technology.

LED lamp with remote phosphor and diffuser configuration

ActiveUS20110267800A1Easy to replaceEfficient and reliable and cost-effectiveNon-electric lightingPoint-like light sourceOptical cavityLED lamp
An LED lamp or bulb is disclosed that comprises a light source, a heat sink structure and an optical cavity. The optical cavity comprises a phosphor carrier having a conversions material and arranged over an opening to the cavity. The phosphor carrier comprises a thermally conductive transparent material and is thermally coupled to the heat sink structure. An LED based light source is mounted in the optical cavity remote to the phosphor carrier with light from the light source passing through the phosphor carrier. A diffuser dome is included that is mounted over the optical cavity, with light from the optical cavity passing through the diffuser dome. The diffuser dome can disperse the light passing through it into the desired emission pattern, such as omnidirection. In one embodiment, the light source can be blue emitting LED and the phosphor carrier can include a yellow phosphor, with the LED lamp or bulb emitting a white light combination of LED and phosphor light.

System for enhancing visibility in the epidural space

A system for enhancing visibility in the epidural space is provided that improves visibility in the epidural space of a patient for more effectively conducting therapeutic surgery therein. The method includes the steps of distending a portion of the epidural space of a patient by filling the portion of the epidural space with a fluid supplied from a catheter and positioning a portion of an optical scope in the distended portion of the epidural space by inserting the optical scope through the same catheter that supplies the distending fluid to thereby provide a visual image of the epidural space.

Bio-electrode composition, bio-electrode, and method for manufacturing bio-electrode

The present invention provides a bio-electrode composition including a polymer compound having both an ionic repeating unit A and a (meth)acrylate repeating unit B, wherein the ionic repeating unit A is a repeating unit selected from the group consisting of sodium salt, potassium salt, and ammonium salt having either or both partial structures shown by the following general formulae (1-1) and (1-2), and the (meth)acrylate repeating unit B is a repeating unit shown by the following general formula (2).This can form a living body contact layer for a bio-electrode with excellent electric conductivity, biocompatibility, and light weight, which can be manufactured at low cost and does not cause large lowering of the electric conductivity even when it is wetted with water or dried.

Esterification and transesterification systems, methods and apparatus

Esterification and transesterification methods, systems and apparatus are disclosed which increase the efficiency of esterification reactions. The methods comprises utilizing an annular gap reactor comprises a rotor rotating within a stator to provide an annular flow passage comprising a flow path containing a high-shear treatment zone in which the passage spacing is smaller than in the remainder of the zone to provide a subsidiary higher-shear treatment zone. In exemplary embodiments, the reactor is modified to include an evaporator portion including an opening in the stator near the end of the reactor and a series of fins placed in the opening. Increase in the rates due to the annular gap reactor allow for the use of less catalyst, poorer catalysts, lower temperature and reduction in unwanted side reactions at more economically favorable conditions.

A seat belt retractor includes a spool for winding a seat belt, and a locking device having a locking member. A first seat belt load limiting mechanism is attached to the spool to transmit a load applied to the seat belt to the locking member in the normal state and limit the load when the spool rotates is locked by the locking member. A second seat belt load limiting mechanism is provided coaxially with the spool for changing the load of the seat belt in the emergency. A control unit sets the second seat belt load limiting mechanism to anon-operational state when a predetermined condition is not satisfied regardless of an emergency, and sets the second seat belt load limiting mechanism to an operational state when the predetermined condition is satisfied in the emergency.
