The Direct Electric Resistance Liquid Heater comprises a liquid heating chamber containing a plurality of electrodes. The electrodes are spaced apart to create a plurality of channels through which the liquid to be heated passes. The electrodes are each connected to a power supply by one or more switches. A controller controls the switches based upon data received from a temperature sensor, sensing the temperature of the liquid, and / or an electric current sensor, sensing the current utilized by the liquid heater. Selection of the number and spacing of the electrodes, and the number of switches, provides the controller with various current levels options to apply to the liquid to be heated. The current levels available due to the number and spacing of the electrodes and the number of switches, span the range from minimum current to maximum current such that the controller can incrementally increase or decrease the current applied to the liquid to be heated without disrupting other users of the same power source.

Further, when the terminals are switched from being shortcircuited to being opened, conduction paths of currents flowing in the respective reactors which have been shortcircuited are ensured by controlling to ON / OFF the bidirectional switch group (5) and a capacitor group (7).

The device comprises a heating setting processor, a heater, a gear switch and a temperature sensor, wherein the heating setting processor is connected to a heating controller and sets a corresponding relation of each time point and a preset temperature in a heating time period; a corresponding switch gear and switch control time of each gear are set, and each switch gear makes the heater exhibit different heating power; a temperature change rate corresponding relationship of the switch gears based on each ambient temperature is preset; the heater is connected to the gear switch; the gear switch is connected to the heater and the heating controller; and the temperature sensor is connected to the heating controller. The heating controller is connected to the gear switch, the temperature sensor and the heating setting processor. In the invention, a rapid change of the temperature is avoided and an effect of stable heating according to a preset heating curve is improved.
