Surgical instrument with improved handle assembly

A modular clip applier includes a cartridge containing multiple surgical clips, and a handle assembly for operating the cartridge to crimp one of the clips onto body tissue of a patient. The handle assembly has a scissors configuration with a bayonet coupling, and flange pairs widely separated to provide a high degree of stability. The bayonet coupling enables the handles of the assembly to be fully separated for cleaning. Snap fittings between the cartridge and handle assembly are provided at the fulcrum and also at a spaced location where an operating pin of the cartridge engages intersecting slots in the flanges. Overdrive protection of three different types is contemplated along with a structure facilitating operation of the handle assembly by palming a pair of handle bars.

Flat panel display mounting

A television mounting system includes a wall plate, at least one monitor arm mountable on the wall plate, and a locking mechanism including a rotating locking element permanently connected with the monitor arm. The rotating element is moveable, by rotation of the rotating element a portion of a revolution, between an unlocked position for enabling dismounting of the at least one monitor arm from the wall plate, and a locked position for preventing dismounting of the at least one monitor arm from the wall plate. The rotating element includes a first side having a different height than a second side. In the locked position of the locking element, the first side is less of a distance from a contact portion of the wall plate than a distance the monitor arm must be moved for dismounting the monitor arm from the wall plate, such that the locking element contacts the contact portion before the monitor can be moved for being dismounted from the wall plate.

System for obfuscating computer code upon disassembly

A system for preventing accurate disassembly of computer code. Such code masking, referred to as “obfuscation,” is useful to prevent unwanted parties from making copies of an original author's software, obtaining valuable information from the software for purposes of breaking into a program, stealing secrets, making derivative works, etc. The present invention uses assembly-language instructions so as to confuse the disassembler to produce results that are not an accurate representation of the original assembly code. In one embodiment, a method is provided where an interrupt, or software exception instruction, is used to mask several subsequent instructions. The instruction used can be any instruction that causes the disassembler to assume that one or more subsequent words, or bytes, are associated with the instruction. The method, instead, jumps directly to the bytes assumed associated with the instruction and executes those bytes for a different purpose. A preferred embodiment works with a popular Microsoft “ASM” assembler language and “DASM” disassembler. The instructions used to achieve the obfuscation include “INT” instructions. Using this approach up to 17 bytes of obfuscation can be achieved with five instructions. Each instruction remains obfuscated until executed and returns to an obfuscated state afterwards.

Fast checking method for pipe defect and nondestructive testing apparatus

The invention relates to a fast scanning method of pipeline drawbacks and a non-destructive detection device, which is more particularly suitable for fast scanning and non-destructive detection of drawbacks of the pipelines with insulation. The invention is composed of a guided wave sensor, a transmitting module, a receiving module, a signal generating module, a power amplifying module, a signal processing module, an A/D conversion module and an built-in computer system. The invention is suitable for comprehensive detection of drawbacks of pipelines with different diameters, detection of long distance pipelines, and detection of pipelines in inaccessible places. The invention has the advantages of fast and large-scale detection ability without contact, high efficiency; overcoming a plurality of limitations of the conventional non-destructive detection method; overcoming the restriction conditions of oil pollution, fouling, bending or heat insulation protective layer, judging and locating the drawbacks of the pipelines, reducing the maintenance range, avoiding unnecessary disassembly and replacement, reducing the intensity of artificial detection, and saving the human and material resource. In addition, the invention can achieve on-line monitoring, and evaluate the health condition of the element or predicts the service life of the element.

Method and equipment for overall recycling treatment of scraped car

The invention discloses a method for overall recyling treatment of a scraped car. The method comprises the following steps of: step 1: pretreating the scraped car, namely conveying the scraped car to a washing station to wash the whole car, conveying the washed car to an oil discharging station to pump off waste oil and waste liquid in the car, recycling the waste oil and the waste liquid in the car according to different types, and then moving the scraped car to a fully closed environment to ignite a safety air bag; step 2: disassembling the scraped car: demounting parts which can be used for remanufacturing from the whole car, and placing the demounted parts according to types; and step 3: performing crushing and sorting: conveying a disassembled car body and parts which cannot be used for remanufacturing to a crushing station to obtain crushed materials, conveying the crushed materials to a sorting station, sorting out iron through magnetic separation, sorting out crushed materials of different grain diameters through rotary screens, separately conveying the crushed materials of different grain diameters, sorting out light materials through air sorting, sorting out non-ferrous metal from residual crushed materials through eddy current, and finally sorting out stainless steel through inductive separation. Through the adoption of the method and the device disclosed by the invention, the maximum recycling of various metal and plastic resources in the scraped car is realized.
