Ethernet OAM fault isolation

Ethernet OAM may be used to trace a path on an Ethernet network. If the path reaches the destination, there is no fault. If the path doesn't reach the destination, the network element farthest along the path is adjacent the fault. The path trace may be used from both ends of a given path to confirm the presence of a single fault or to determine the likelihood of multiple faults on the path. A path trace Ethernet OAM frame may be issued on the network with instructions that network elements with knowledge of a destination address should respond. If a network element knows the destination address, the receiving network element responds to the initiating network element with a unicast OAM frame and forwards the OAM frame if possible. The sequence of unicast response frames allows the initiating network element to build a path through the network toward the destination element and identify where the path stops.

Image capturing apparatus

The present invention provides an image capturing apparatus capable of properly zooming in on a main subject without performing complicated framing. A digital camera having an electronic zoom function has an external passive type distance detector for obtaining two-dimensional distance detection information. The two-dimensional distance detection information obtained by the distance detector is used for an auto-focus control of the digital camera. Further, the two-dimensional distance detection information is also used for detection of a main subject in an image capturing area. The digital camera specifies the position of the main subject by using the two-dimensional distance detection information and moves the center of the partial area to be extracted in the case of generating a pseudo zoom image toward the specified position.

Mobile radio communication system and method of registering position therein

Disclosed is a mobile radio communication system in which a position registration area number is reported from a base station to a mobile station within a radio zone, position information indicating a position registration area in which a mobile station resides is registered in storage means based upon position registration information that has been transmitted from the mobile station, and when there is an incoming call to a mobile station, a paging call is placed from a plurality of base stations within the position registration area, in which the base station resides, based upon position information that has been read out of the memory means. Updating of the position registration area of a mobile station can be performed automatically on the network side without the mobile station transmitting position registration information to the network side. To achieve this, a rule for predicting the manner in which a mobile station will change a position registration area by moving is registered beforehand on the network side. Whether a state in which the rule is applicable has been attained is checked for every mobile station. If such a state is attained, the position registration area of the mobile station is updated based upon the rule.

Electronic endoscope apparatus which superimposes signals on power supply

An electronic endoscope apparatus has a single coaxial cable installed between a scope A and a processor unit B. Waveform superimposing circuits superimpose a video signal on power transmitted through the coaxial cable and sequentially superimpose scope-side reference pulses and processor-side reference pulses alternately on horizontal scanning blanking periods in one field of the video signal. At the same time, the scope A and processor unit B generate reference signals and various timing signals synchronized with the reference pulses of the counterpart and perform video processing based on them. This enables accurate sampling even when scopes with different pixel counts are used. Also, a scope information signal and electronic shutter control signal may be superimposed on a predetermined blanking period in the video signal. Alternatively, an electromagnetic coupler may be installed instead of the coaxial cable and the video signal and reference pulses may be superimposed on AC power supplied electromagnetically.

Setting method and setting apparatus for operation path for articulated robot

A temporary operation path is set by connecting a plurality of welding points in a virtual space generated by a computer to investigate whether an end effector can be operated along the temporary operation path. If the operation cannot be operated, a path to avoid interference with a workpiece is set automatically while extracting a portion in which the workpiece exists in the internal space surrounded by the end effector in order to set a narrow-area operation path for withdrawing the end effector from a welding point. Next, in order to set a wide-area operation path for making movement between withdrawing points, a template operation is applied, in which the end effector is moved by a prescribed distance in a prescribed direction.

Measurement and stimulation of muscle tissue

An apparatus (1) for electrical stimulation of muscle tissue. The apparatus has an electrode system (10) with an electrode array (13). The array has a plurality of electrode pads (12) and can be placed in electrical contact with the muscle tissue. The electrode system Further has a sensor (30; 31-36) for sensing a property of the muscle tissue. The property forms a measure for the activity of the muscle tissue. The apparatus (1) has an electrode selector (530) for selecting one or more stimulating electrode pads. A signal generator (531) is connected to the electrode array (13) for providing an electrical stimulation signal to the stimulation electrode pad. A signal processor (532) is connected to said sensor (30; 31-36), for determining from the sensor signal a value of the muscle activity and outputting the value in a for humans perceptible form. This reduces the accuracy required to position the electrode system (10) and increases the accuracy of measuring the muscle tissue activity.
