Polythiophenes (PTs) are polymerized thiophenes, a sulfur heterocycle. They are white solids with the formula (C₄H₂S)ₙ for the parent PT. The rings are linked through the 2- and 5-positions. Poly(alkylthiophene)s have substituents at the 3- or 4-position. They are also white solids, but tend to be soluble in organic solvents.

Reflective and conductive star polymers

Conductive polymers having a star structure comprising a central core with multiple attachment sites and conjugated charge transporting arms radiating therefrom. The cores are derived from hyperbranched polymers, dendrimers, or other molecules with a multiplicity of attachment sites. The arms are derived from conjugated oligomers and polymers such as polythiophene, polyaniline or polyphenylene. The subject polymers allow assembly of the macromolecules in all three dimensions in the solid state. A ramification of the compact assembly is the realization of highly reflective, smooth coatings simply applied from solution. A preferred embodiment having a 1,3,5 hyperbranched polyphenylene core and poly (3-hexylthiophene) arms provides lustrous reflective gold coatings.

Films from invention compositions are useful as buffer layers in organic electronic devices, including electroluminescent devices, such as, for example, organic light emitting diodes (OLED) displays in combination with metal nanowires or carbon nanotubes in applications such as drain, source, or gate electrodes in thin film field effect transistors.

Super-hydrophobic washable conductive fabric and preparation method thereof

The invention relates to a super-hydrophobic washable conductive fabric and a preparation method thereof. The conductive fabric comprises a substrate fabric and a conductive polymer layer coated on the surface of the substrate fabric; the conductive polymer layer is polyaniline, polypyrrole, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), polythiophene or their derivative polymer; and the substrate fabric is a blend fabric with the surface having cracks and the cross section having a cross shape, wherein the blend fabric is obtained by blending a heterotypic polyester synthetic fiber and a cotton fiber. The preparation method comprises the following steps: processing the substrate fabric with plasma, compositing the conductive polymer with the substrate fabric through utilizing an in situ polymerization method, and adjusting the molar ratio of a fluorine-containing doping agent and a polyaniline monomer and other reaction conditions to obtain conductive fabrics with different conductivities. The prepared conductive fabric which has the characteristics of high conductivity, rapid pH responsiveness, reversible super-hydrophobic performance, excellent washability and the like can be widely applied to development of wettability switching of acidity control, automatically cleaning fabrics, acidity detection and the like, so there are enormous business opportunities.
