System and method for display proximity based control of a touch screen user interface

A touch screen user interface features manipulating an object (e.g. a fingertip) near a display, identifying a target point according to the object trajectory and a nonzero display distance, and performing an interface event at the target point computed as a projected intersection point between the object and the display, a hovering point, or by determining when the object crosses a display distance threshold or approaches the display faster than a predetermined speed. The interface event includes triggering a popup menu, moving a cursor, clicking a tool tip, clicking a hotkey, or adjusting a display image, and is activated by hovering the object for a duration, moving the object faster than a velocity threshold, crossing a second display distance threshold, crossing multiple display distance thresholds within a time limit, or by moving multiple objects simultaneously. The interface may properly control Flash®-based applications without separate pointing and selecting mechanisms.

Method and system for ink data generator, ink data rendering, ink data manipulation and ink data communication

Methods and systems are provided for generating, rendering, manipulating (e.g., slicing), and communicating stroke objects that form ink data. In a method of generating a stroke object, pen event data indicative of pen down, pen movement, and pen up events are sequentially received to generate point objects that collectively form a stroke object. The point objects serve as control points for interpolating curve segments. Further, a start parameter indicative of a start point within a starting curve segment of the curve segments at which display of the stroke object starts, and an end parameter indicative of an end point within an ending curve segment of the curve segments at which display of the stroke object ends, are generated for the stroke object. When rendering the stroke object, a system limits display of the stroke object to a range bound by the start and end parameters, as opposed to displaying the entire stroke object.

Method of scrolling that is activated by touchdown in a predefined location on a touchpad that recognizes gestures for controlling scrolling functions

A method of using a capacitance-sensitive touchpad, wherein the touchpad includes a zone on a surface thereof, wherein touchdown of a pointing object within the zone enables activation of a scrolling function, wherein direction of scrolling is then controlled by a gesture by the pointing object, such as moving in a circular motion in a clockwise direction to move down in a list, and in a counter clockwise direction to move up in a list, and wherein fast and slow scrolling speeds are controlled by tapping functions within the scroll zone.

Hyperspectral image abnormal point detection method based on selective kernel principal component analysis

The present invention provides a detecting method for the unusual point of the high spectrum image based on the selective nuclear main composition analyzing, and relates to the high spectrum image analyzing and defecting technology field. The present invention aims at solving the problem that the prior high spectrum image defecting method cannot conduct character extracting on the unusual point effectively, and produce more false alarm, and cannot detect the unusual point effectively under high background disturbance. The present invention has the procedures that the data is normalized, and the nuclear main composition is analyzed; a sliding window is constructed in the main sub-quantity; the third moment and the fourth moment of the pixel in the sliding window are calculated and compared the moments with a preset value; the value is recorded after reading all over the main sub-quantity; all the main sub-quantity are processed; the maximal main sub-quantity is selected; the unusual point detecting on the selected main sub-quantity is conducted by the RX operator, and the detecting result is output. The present invention can extract and select the character of the unusual point object in the high spectrum image effectively, and can lower the false alarm rate, and can detect the unusual point normally under high background disturbance.
