Method and system for adapting a circuit layout to a predefined grid

A method for adapting objects of a circuit layout to a predefined grid, wherein the objects are a representation of an integrated circuit, each object being defined by elements including a reference element. A reference element is selected which is unaligned to the predefined grid, and a gridline is selected from the predefined grid. A grid-constraint is generated which is subsequently added to a set of constraints associated with the circuit layout. The set of constraints includes design-rule constraints for applying a design rule to groups of objects of the circuit layout. The objects of the circuit layout are adapted to substantially comply with the set of constraints. Reference elements unaligned to the predefined grid are gridded while compliance of the circuit layout with the design rules is maintained.

Communication protocol converter and method of protocol conversion

The present invention generally relates to a communication protocol converter to allow a legacy device utilizing IPv4 to operate across the network using IPv6. In a first embodiment of the invention, two modular Ethernet connectors are placed side-by-side. A first modular connector receives IPv4 Ethernet data which is converted to a raw data signal. The data is transmitted from the first modular connector to a second modular connector by a bidirectional data line. The second connector receives the raw data, and a raw data-to-Ethernet conversion is completed providing output at IPv6. The present invention utilizes the form factor structure of the Ethernet connectors, so that the entire electronic circuitry is contained within the connectors to complete the conversion. An alternate embodiment incorporates the connectors into a single housing and the conversion is completed internally by a microprocessor and embedded software. A method of IPv4 to IPv6 conversion is additionally disclosed.

Systems, methods and apparatus for just-in time scheduling and planning

The disclosure relates generally to methods and apparatus to optimize a supply plan through a hybrid meta-heuristic approach based on genetic algorithms to optimize inventory and generate a supply plan. The apparatuses include a supply chain planner that interacts with the processes of a supply chain network. To provide a complete optimization for the type of platform being deployed in theater a heuristic algorithm is devised to decompose the supply plan problem into a production center schedule and an asset routing problem, which will be tackled one after the other. The decomposed supply plan problem is solved with different heuristic algorithms. Namely, genetic algorithms are used to optimize the supply plans based on ever changing set of operational demands from in theater and the priority of those demands to the assigned depots, while efficient constructive heuristics are used to deal with footprint and timing constraints.

Transformer

A transformer including a first magnetic core and a second magnetic core having the shape of a flat plate. In the first magnetic core, a middle leg and substantially L-shaped outer legs whose inner sides are formed as circular-arc-shaped surfaces are provided in a standing manner at the central portion and at the comers of a rectangular flat plate, respectively. In addition, in the first magnetic core, a winding accommodating portion is formed between the circular-arc-shaped surfaces of the corresponding outer legs and an outer peripheral surface of the middle leg. Three coil portions, formed by spiral winding operations in level states, are placed upon each other, and are inserted into the winding accommodating portion of the first magnetic core. Then, from above the coil portions, the second magnetic core is placed thereon in order to form an integral structure. At this time, at the side portions of the flat plate, an external line of the flat plate and an external line of the winding accommodating portion coincide with each other. Therefore, the footprint of the transformer becomes small. Accordingly, in the invention, the transformer can be made smaller and thinner as a result of making the dead space that exists during the mounting of the coil to the magnetic core as small as possible.
