The ORB key frame closed-loop detection SLAM method comprises the following steps of, firstly, acquiring color information and depth information of the environment by adopting an RGB-D sensor, and extracting the image features by using the ORB features; then, estimating the position and the pose of the robot by an algorithm based on RANSAC-ICP interframe registration, and constructing an initial position and pose graph; and finally, constructing BoVW (bag of visual words) by extracting the ORB features in a Key Frame, carrying out similarity comparison on the current key frame and words in the BoVW to realize closed-loop key frame detection, adding constraint of the position and pose graph through key frame interframe registration detection, and obtaining the global optimal position and pose of the robot. Embodiments of the present invention also include supplementary sensors for determining other plant characteristics including leaf pattern and plant location along the row axis. The method and computer program product embodiments of the present invention may also differentiate selected plants of interest from invasive or weed species using the outputs of the sensor device of the present invention.

Dynamic wake prediction and visualization with uncertainty analysis

A dynamic wake avoidance system utilizes aircraft and atmospheric parameters readily available in flight to model and predict airborne wake vortices in real time. A novel combination of algorithms allows for a relatively simple yet robust wake model to be constructed based on information extracted from a broadcast. The system predicts the location and movement of the wake based on the nominal wake model and correspondingly performs an uncertainty analysis on the wake model to determine a wake hazard zone (no fly zone), which comprises a plurality of “wake planes,” each moving independently from another. The system selectively adjusts dimensions of each wake plane to minimize spatial and temporal uncertainty, thereby ensuring that the actual wake is within the wake hazard zone. The predicted wake hazard zone is communicated in real time directly to a user via a realistic visual representation. In an example, the wake hazard zone is visualized on a 3-D flight deck display to enable a pilot to visualize or “see” a neighboring aircraft as well as its wake. The system substantially enhances the pilot's situational awareness and allows for a further safe decrease in spacing, which could alleviate airport and airspace congestion.

Performing context-rich attribute-based services on a host

Some embodiments provide a novel method for configuring a set of service one or more nodes on a host to perform context-rich, attribute-based services on the host computer, which executes several data compute nodes (DCNs) in addition to the set of service nodes. The method uses a context-filtering node on the host to collect a first set of attributes associated with service rules processed by the set of service nodes on the host computer. The context filter also collects a second set of attributes associated with at least one data message flow of a DCN (e.g., of a virtual machine (VM) or container) executing on the host. After collecting the first and second sets of attributes, the context filtering node on the host compares the first and second sets of attributes to generate a service tag to represent a subset of the first set of attributes associated with the data message flow. The method associates this service tag with the data message flow. This service tag can then be used to identify the subset of attributes associated with the data message flow when a service node needs to process its attribute-based service rules for the data message flow.

A label applicator system provides for high speed, accurate label transfer from a web to items moving on an item transport along a path relative to the system. The items, such as bottles, have a contoured surface. The applicator includes a supply reel for supplying labels on a web and a take-up for taking up the web after transfer of the label. A drive roller moves the web through the applicator system. The system includes a web positioning assembly and a movable label applicator head. A contour sensor senses the bottle contour and develops a profile for the head to follow to apply the labels to the bottles. The supply, take-up and the drive are operably engaged with one another to maintain a relatively constant tension in the web. The web positioning assembly is configured to advance and retract the web to accommodate a pitch difference between the bottles in the bottle transport and the labels on the web and to accommodate movement of the decorating head toward and away from the bottles in the bottle transport.

Universal drill-down system for coordinated presentation of items in different databases

A system for capturing the context of, and translating, or mapping, from data in an originating database presentation, or in an originating format, to data in a target database presentation, or target format. The translation uses the context of the originating report / query in terms of the originating database as a basis for the translation. The originating context is translated to the target context and is used to accurately map data from one presentation to another. By using a context and a translation map, which define specifics of the translation between contexts against different data sources, the invention is able to achieve a mapping engine that can efficiently map data between databases of different types. The translation map includes rules set automatically by the system, or set by a human administrator. The rules permit special treatment of different mapping scenarios. For example, specified types of mappings can be prevented so that selected users will be denied the ability to access restricted target information. Member exceptions are used that permit mapping between different data models, as, for example, where rows or columns in an originating data source (e.g. OLAP) are not present in a target data source (e.g. Relational). Other aspects of the invention include using supplemental member translations, translating items in an OLAP level to more than one translation object, delegating data items in cases where there is little or no correspondence between data models, translating a data item to a plurality of data items, translating a data item to a range, and additional aspects. An administrator interface is provided to create, modify, monitor and manage a mapping system.

Neural network training system

In order for the feature extractors to operate with sufficient accuracy, a high degree of training is required. In this situation, a neural network implementing the feature extractor may be trained by providing it with images having known correspondence. A 3D model of a city may be utilized in order to train a neural network for location detection. 3D models are sophisticated and allow manipulation of viewer perspective and ambient features such as day / night sky variations, weather variations, and occlusion placement. Various manipulations may be executed in order to generate vast numbers of image pairs having known correspondence despite having variations. These image pairs with known correspondence may be utilized to train the neural network to be able to generate feature maps from query images and identify correspondence between query image feature maps and reference feature maps. This training can be accomplished without requiring the capture of real images with known correspondence. Capture of real images with known correspondence is cumbersome, time and resource-intensive, and difficult to manage.

Some embodiments provide a computer program for performing a color matching operation. The computer program identifies first and second images. Each image includes several pixels. Each pixel includes a hue component value. The computer program identifies a set of hue ranges for the first image based on analysis of the hue component values of pixels in the first image. The computer program identifies a set of hue ranges for the second image based on analysis of the hue component values of pixels in the second image. The computer program modifies pixel values of the first image to match pixel values of the second image based on the sets of hue ranges for the first and second images.

A method and apparatus for obtaining a color mapping of a dental object. Illumination is directed toward the object over at least first, second, and third wavelength band, one band at a time. An image of the dental object is captured at each wavelength band to form a set of images of the dental object. For pixels in the captured set of images, an image data value for the pixel corresponds to each of the wavelength bands and calculates interpolated image data values proportional to the spectral reflectance of the dental object, according to the obtained image data values and according to image data values obtained from a reference object at the wavelength bands. Spectral distribution data for a viewing illuminant is obtained and the visual color of the dental object reconstructed according to the calculated interpolated image data values and the obtained spectral distribution of the viewing illuminant.

Generation of high dynamic range images from low dynamic range images

An approach is provided for generating a high dynamic range image from a low dynamic range image. The generation is performed using a mapping relating input data in the form of input sets of image spatial positions and a combination of color coordinates of low dynamic range pixel values associated with the image spatial positions to output data in the form of high dynamic range pixel values. The mapping is generated from a reference low dynamic range image and a corresponding reference high dynamic range image. Thus, a mapping from the low dynamic range image to a high dynamic range image is generated on the basis of corresponding reference images. The approach may be used for prediction of high dynamic range images from low dynamic range images in an encoder and decoder. A residual image may be generated and used to provide improved high dynamic range image quality.
