The invention relates to a safety
system (10) for detecting a body part within a
hazard zone for a vehicle (100), to a top (20) having such a safety
system, and to a corresponding method. The safety
system (10) according to the invention comprises: at least one
sensor node (11a, 11b, 11c), each of which has a capacitive sensor (15a, 15b, 15c) and a
processing unit (16a, 16b, 16c), the capacitive sensor (15a, 15b, 15c) having at least one
electrode and being designed to sense a change in
capacitance owing to an approach of a body part to the
electrode, and the
processing unit (16a, 16b, 16c) being designed to generate
capacitance change data on the basis of a change in
capacitance sensed by the capacitive sensor (15a, 15b, 15c); an evaluation unit (13) which is designed to detect, at leaston the basis of received capacitance change data, that there is a body part within a
hazard zone; and a
data transmission device (12) for transmitting the generated capacitance change data from a
sensor node (11a, 11b, 11c) to the evaluation unit (13).
