The pointer-tracker slews the gimbal to initiate tracking based on the threat coordinates and then uses its detector to continue to track and verify the threat. By slewing the gimbal based on unverified threat coordinates to initiate tracking the system is highly agile and can respond to short and near simultaneous MANPADS shots.

Method and system for destroying rockets

A system that includes a synchronized network of three search and track radars and associated processing means and communication channels. The radars are configured to detect and track the target. In response to detected target, an interceptor is launched towards the target. The radars are configured to measure and track the target and the interceptor. The target and interceptor ranges are accurately measured by the radars in the synchronized network, giving rise to synchronized accurate range measurements that are combined by range triangulation to provide accurate target and interceptor position measurements irrespective of the angular measurement accuracy of each radar. The processing means are configured to utilize the measurements to calculate interceptor maneuvers required to overcome errors and bring the interceptor close to a target. The maneuver commands are transmitted to the interceptor using the communication channel. The interceptor is equipped with kill mechanism designed to destroy a target warhead when the interceptor approaches the target.

An optical gun sight system for an M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank supported in a lower housing which may be attached to the fixed internal upper housing in the turret of the tank. A precision targeting system for a firearm has an image capturing scope, a processor, and an actuator. In one embodiment, a user indicates when he wants to lock onto the target, and then readjust his aim after receiving feedback from the system. In another embodiment, the system automatically locks onto the target. After lock on, the system compares successive images, and determines if the target has moved in the firearm sight. If movement has occurred, the system calculates the degree of the movement, and sends appropriate signals to an actuator which corrects the aim of the firearm. The system thereby converts reasonably good aim into precision aim.
