155 results about "Spooling" patented technology

In computing, spooling is a specialized form of multi-programming for the purpose of copying data between different devices. In contemporary systems, it is usually used for mediating between a computer application and a slow peripheral, such as a printer. Spooling allows programs to "hand off" work to be done by the peripheral and then proceed to other tasks, or to not begin until input has been transcribed. A dedicated program, the spooler, maintains an orderly sequence of jobs for the peripheral and feeds it data at its own rate. Conversely, for slow input peripherals, such as a card reader, a spooler can maintain a sequence of computational jobs waiting for data, starting each job when all of the relevant input is available; see batch processing. The spool itself refers to the sequence of jobs, or the storage area where they are held. In many cases the spooler is able to drive devices at their full rated speed with minimal impact on other processing.

Scanning Probe Microscope, Nanomanipulator with Nanospool, Motor, nucleotide cassette and Gaming application

This invention has applications as a scanning probe microscope/nanomanipulator with consumer gaming applications. An integrated compound lever cantilever which can function simultaneously as both a sample substrate actuator and probe tip scanner actuator for modulation of one or more probe tip. In one embodiment a piezoelectric multimorph MEMS structure is fabricated which serves as a Scanning Probe Microscope cantilever probe tip scanner and allows for the substrate to be moved in more than 1 Degree of freedom with subnanometer resolution. Nanomanipulation means such as nanotweezer, nanopore and nanomachine embodiments are possible uses for the device in addition to data storage. Parallel array operation of many sets of cantilevers is a preferred embodiment which can be used as a nanoscale manipulation and fabrication means. In addition an embodiment where the actuation effects of the device are used to propel the scanner can allow for a programmable drivable MEMS/NEMS based autonomous or semi-autonomous robotic scanner, manipulator and assembler. The device has embodiments where it is essentially a planarized MEMS/NEMS derivative version of a Besocke type scanner. The invention also discloses uses for scanning probe microscopes and nanomanipulators as means for gaming systems, erector set and chemistry kit for entertainment and educational applications. Other applications include rotational actuation, linear motion and spooling of material on rotational bodies through coordination of the actuator probe or probes.

Fuser apparatus having cleaning web spooling prevention

A fuser for an electrophotographic printer or copier has a fuser roll and pressure roll that form a nip through which a recording paper having a toner image is passed to fuse the toner image thereon. The fuser includes a cleaning web system to clean the fuser roll having a web supply roll, a tension roll to press the web against the fuser roll, and a web take up roll. To prevent spooling of the web from the supply roll during a paper jam clearance while the pressure roll is in contact with the fuser roll, a torsion spring is mounted on the tension roll shaft. The torsion spring provides enough torsional force on the tension roll to prevent rotation thereof during a jam clearance, thus preventing web spooling. During normal operation, the take up roll intermittently overcomes the torsion spring to step the web thereon.

Spooling server apparatus and methods for receiving, storing, and forwarding a print job over a network

The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for receiving, storing, and forwarding print jobs over a communications network. In particular, the present invention enables a user to obtain print jobs at a location which may be unspecified, and which may be remote from the source of the print job. A spooling server is used to store a print job received via the network from a print job source. A printer polling device, which may be used at a location remote from the client device, is capable of polling the spooling server via the network to identify whether any print jobs associated with the printer polling device are available for printing at a printer currently associated with the polling device. The spooling server need not initiate contact with the printer through a firewall, since it is polled by the printer polling device. Thus, network security is maintained.

Print control method and apparatus

When “store” of intermediate data is designated in a print process, a spooler stores intermediate data and an output job setup file in a spool file. When the stored job is selected, a previewer displays a list of jobs, and displays a print preview image. In this case, pages are displayed so that a page with the maximum size just falls within a display window, and other pages are displayed in the same scale as that of the maximum page.

Facsimile telecommunications system and method

A system and method for facilitating facsimile transmissions has one or more store and forward facilities, each associated with a plurality of subscriber facsimile machines, typically coupled over the switched telephone network. The store and forward facsimiles include a computer for controlling operations and mass data storage equipment. A subscriber to the system delivers an outgoing facsimile message to the store and forward facility with which it is associated, which records the fax message together with data as to originating facsimile machine and destination facsimile machine. The store and forward facility then delivers the facsimile message to the intended receiver facsimile machine, either directly or through another store and forward facility. If unsuccessful on an initial attempt, the store and forward facility periodically retrys to send the facsimile message. The system also provides spooling of all facsimile messages for an intended receiver machine, which are all transmitted upon making connection with the receiver machine. Subscriber mailboxes are provided as part of the mass storage, which can be accessed by a subscriber to have his messages delivered to any facsimile machine he designates. Secure facsimile transmission is achieved through use of subscriber PIN numbers. Broadcasting, redirecting messages and cost accounting can also be achieved by the system and method.

The invention discloses a production method of novel super-comfortable moisture-absorption strong-toughness blended yarns of mucilage glue and polyethylene fibers with high molecular weight. The production method comprises the following technical steps: firstly, preprocessing polyethylene fibers with ultra-high molecular weight, namely pre-adding an antistatic agent of silicone oil; matching with different fiber proportions according to requirements for the degree of comfort and toughness; sequentially performing blowing-carding, breaker-drawing, secondary drawing, coarse spinning, fine spinning and automatic spooling so as to prepare the novel super-comfortable moisture-absorption strong-toughness yarns. Compared with the prior art, the novel super-comfortable moisture-absorption strong-toughness blended yarns of mucilage glue and polyethylene fibers with high molecular weight, which are prepared according to the production method disclosed by the invention, have the advantages that the mucilage glue has the properties of softness, moisture absorption and light weight, which are superior to natural cotton fibers, and the polyethylene fibers with high molecular weight have the properties of wear resistance, high strength, corrosion resistance, and the like, which are superior to cotton fibers. The cost of overall raw materials and the processing cost of the blended yarns of two kinds of fibers are lower than those of conventional yarns, so that the prepared blended yarns can be used in the civilian field completely instead of conventional fabrics of cotton yarns.
