Personal video recording with storage space distributed among remote personal video recorders

Automated personal video recording comprising scheduling a show for a user having allocated storage space on a personal video recorder ("PVR"), wherein the show has a storage space requirement that exceeds the user's free space, and the PVR is coupled for data communications to a storage space provider; and transmitting to the storage space provider an order to record the show through the storage space provider in storage space on a remote PVR that is coupled for data communications to the storage space provider. Receiving in a storage space provider from a personal video recorder ("PVR") an order to record a show on a remote PVR, the order comprising an identification of a show and a schedule for recording the show; selecting a remote PVR; and recording the show, in dependence upon the show identification and the schedule for recording the show, in storage space on the selected remote PVR.

Test and burn-in apparatus, in-line system using the test and burn-in apparatus, and test method using the in-line system

A test and burn-in apparatus for semiconductor chip package devices, an in-line system which includes the test and burn-in apparatus, and a test method which employs the in-line system are provided. A test and burn-in apparatus for testing semiconductor devices allows various testing processes, including a burn-in process, to be performed at the same testing stage. The apparatus employs test trays which contain the semiconductor devices. These test trays are used throughout the in-line system so that an entire back-end process can be performed without the need for loading / unloading the semiconductor devices into and from device trays between the various tests. The test and burn-in apparatus according to this invention can therefore occupy less space than the prior art testing apparatuses. The in-line system includes multiple test and burn-in apparatuses as well as a single sorting unit which performs a composite sorting operation after all the testing processes have been performed. Furthermore, the method for testing the semiconductor devices in the in-line system includes testing the semiconductor devices in the test trays using the test and burn-in apparatus, generating a test tray map corresponding to results of the test, transferring the test trays to a different testing apparatus for a second testing and test tray map generation process, and finally sorting the semiconductor devices in the sorting unit after all testing processes have been performed based on a final sorting map created by combining the test tray maps of each of the tests. The benefits of this invention are reduced time and space requirements because neither transferring the devices to device trays between tests nor performing multiple sorting steps are required.

Multi-contact connector for electrode for example for medical use

Multiple contact connector for an electrode, for example, for medical use.
The present invention relates to a multiple contact connector with reduced space requirement and weight regardless of the number of electrical contacts of the electrode, which can receive one or two electrodes, which guarantees a reliable and secured electrical connection with no risk of accidental disconnection and which is not a problem for a patient in whom the electrodes are implanted.
This connector (1) consists of male plug (6) which has elongated support (60) provided on at least one of its sides with a number of contact zones (61) equal to the number of contacts of said electrode (2) and which are aligned parallel to the axis of first cable section (4), and female socket (7) having roughly cylindrical body (70) arranged in the extension of second cable section (5) and having at least one housing (71) provided with a number of contact elements (72) equivalent to the number of contact zones (61) of said male plug (6) and capable of receiving said support (60). This connector (1) is characterized in that it has tightening sleeve (8) arranged in order to maintain support (60) in housing (71) and to exert a radial pressure of contact zones (61) on contact elements (72) in such a way as to ensure the electrical connections.

Techniques and System to Deploy Policies Intelligently

In an information management system, relevant policies are deployed to targets while policies which are not relevant are not. By deploying relevant policies, this reduces the amount of space requirements at the target to store the policies and the amount of data that needs to be sent to the target. Also, execution speed at the target may increase since the target does not need to evaluate policies that are not relevant.
