The present invention discloses a method, an apparatus and a computer program for resource contention in device-to-device communication links. The method partitions the time-frequency radio resource grid with a resource block set forming the resource unit in the grid, for all available, used and unusable frequency bands around a given virtual central frequency. Each resource block set is partitioned into a common control channel and a data channel. With a given procedure of control data transmission between transmitting and receiving user terminals, the resources are competed and shared. Frequency shifting with short distance frequency change or frequency transference with a larger frequency hopping into a free radio resource is available. The competition procedure is done in order to fairly share the frequency bands as a function of time between different device-to-device communication links in a localized manner.

Network interface cassette adapter and method

A network interface cassette for coupling signals between a wireless network and a tape head in a cassette tape player. The network interface cassette includes an enclosure that is conformed to the cassette tape form factor. It contains a transceiver that converts base band signals for radio frequency communications within the wireless network. It also contains a network controller that is coupled to communicate the base band signals with the transceiver. The network controller converts digital audio signals to and from the base band signals. There is an audio processor that converts the digital audio signals to analog audio signals. A coupling means converts the analog audio signals to magnetic audio signals. The coupling means is aligned to couple the magnetic audio signals to the tape head. A power supply with batteries incorporates a spindle driven sensor means to control power and function selection within the device. A wireless user interface adapter is provided to couple microphone and audio signals to the apparatus. Plural communications requests are processed, and include a priority scheme to manage resource contention.

The network bandwidth control method includes the following steps: predicting the usable bandwidth for the network device according to the current flow data and the historic flow data of the network device; respectively generating the bandwidth control information for each network device according to the pre-allocated control policy and the predicted usable bandwidth of each network device; and controlling the corresponding network device flow respectively according to the bandwidth control information of each network device. The network bandwidth control device comprises a usable bandwidth predicting module, a control information generating module and a control module. The invention also provides a network bandwidth control system and the network device.

System and method to avoid resource contention in the presence of exceptions

A multi-threaded processor is configured to detect excepted instructions from a first program, and to stop fetching younger instructions from that same program, to thereby conserve system resources that can be used by other programs. Each fetched program instruction has an associated status bit, which is set if the instruction excepts. Each excepting instruction is logged in an exception logging unit, which causes the associated status bit to be set. Each program has an associated in-flight vector table that tracks the instructions that have been fetched for that program. The status bits are compared with the in-flight vector table to identify the program that is associated with an excepted instruction. That program is then disabled, thereby preventing further fetching of instructions for that program until the excepted instruction clears.

The method comprises the steps of establishing or re-establishing a user group, by a serving base station, based on an interference environment of user equipments within a cell; receiving, by the user equipment, an uplink schedule grant from a serving base station, the uplink schedule grant comprising an access priority of the user equipment on an unlicensed frequency band; configuring, by the user equipment, an uplink frame structure for uplink transmission of the unlicensed frequency band based on the access priority; blind-detecting other reserved signals of other user equipments within a user group on the unlicensed frequency band based on the uplink frame structure; performing channel clearance assessment to the unlicensed frequency band based on the uplink frame structure; if the user equipment fails to blind-detect the other reserved signals and a result of the channel clearance assessment is idle, transmitting a first reserved signal on the unlicensed frequency band and performing uplink data transmission of the user equipment; and if the user equipment blind-detects the other reserved signals or a result of the channel clearance assessment is busy, stopping contending for the unlicensed frequency band.
