Patient and device location dependent healthcare information processing system

A system automatically establishes context information (e.g., determining changes to user interface workflows, screens, menus, and access requirements for devices such as monitors, ventilators, and diagnostic equipment) used by a worker in using healthcare information applications based on patient geographic location (e.g., a room or bed or department). The system addresses the need for a user to sign onto a system with each location change and manually change context information which consumes computer, server and network resources and represent a potential security problem. A healthcare system selects information to be provided to a user in response to received location dependent context data. The system includes a proximity detector for wirelessly detecting presence of an identification tag substantially within a predetermined vicinity of the detector. The identification tag is associated with at least one of, (a) a particular processing device and (b) a particular person. A location detector determines location information indicating a location associated with an identification tag detected by the proximity detector. A workflow processor automatically alters information presented to a user including information associated with a task sequence to be performed by the user for a patient in response to the determined location information.

Probe, image diagnostic system and catheter

A probe which is adapted to repeatedly transmit and receive signals during radial scanning within a body cavity to acquire reflected signals and transmit the reflected signals to an image diagnostic apparatus which, on a basis of the reflected signals, forms and outputs a tomographic image of the body cavity and biotissue surrounding the body cavity includes a hollow shaft for transmitting rotational drive force to perform the radial scanning, and a transmission line extending along the shaft to transmit the reflected signals to the image diagnostic apparatus. The shaft receives the rotational drive force via a torque limiter which possesses a thickness which is non-uniform in a circumferential direction at a part of the torque limiter along a length of the torque limiter.

Ultrasound diagnostic apparatus

The ultrasound probe transmits and receives ultrasonic waves in different directions and the diagnostic apparatus body combines a plurality of images captured in the different directions of transmission and reception to produce an ultrasound image. In this process, the ultrasound diagnostic apparatus measures the temperature of the ultrasound probe to change the ultrasound transmission and reception for producing a composite ultrasound image or makes the directions of transmission and reception in the last ultrasound image in one composite ultrasound image coincide with those in the first ultrasound image in its temporally adjacent composite ultrasound image. The ultrasound diagnostic apparatus thus enables consistent ultrasound diagnosis against heat generated in the integrated circuit board of the ultrasound probe while simplifying the control of the ultrasound transmission and reception.

Ultrasonic diagnostic equipment and method of controlling the same

Three times of ultrasonic transmissions are executed in positive, negative and negative polarities with reference to a predetermined rate period, for each of a plurality of ultrasonic scan lines, and echo signals caused and generated by the ultrasonic waves of the respective transmissions are received at the same rates. At each scan line, the echo signal based on the positive-polarity ultrasonic wave of the first transmission and the echo signal based on the negative-polarity ultrasonic wave of the second transmission are added up, thereby to generate an ordinary mode image. Besides, at each scan line, the echo signal based on the positive-polarity ultrasonic wave of the first transmission and the echo signal based on the negative-polarity ultrasonic wave of the third transmission are added up, thereby to generate puncture mode image data. The generated ordinary mode image and puncture mode image are displayed in a predetermined aspect.
