colored mural of the Longmen grottoes comprises the concrete steps of surveying and photographing a grotto sculpture on the spot, importing a photo into a computer, then calculating the dimension of the grotto sculpture, and calculating a dimensional proportion length; designing a dermatoglyphic pattern color by referring to the
colored mural of Dunhuang at the same period, repairing a damaged part of the grotto sculpture, and manufacturing a digital model with a three-dimensional (3D) format; outputting, enlarging and printing to a broadsheet according to the digital restoring model with the 3D format, and drawing a manuscript rough draft according to a grotto sculpture restoring model; and carrying out digital coloring repair on the manuscripted grotto sculpture with different forms,
copying onto a canvas, and completing the repair on the grotto colored mural. The colored mural of the Longmen grottoes repaired through the intangible cultural heritage process for repairing and coloring the colored mural of the Longmen grottoes provided by the invention reproduces a colored original appearance of the Longmen grottoes; and with a special self-made rock color oily
pigment for mural repair, the mural is ensured to be rick in saturation, simple and unsophisticated in color, rich in texture
gradation, high in art decoration, thick in texture, difficult to discolor, resistant to light and sun, and capable of being stored for a long time.
