Method to Regulate temperature and Reduce Heat Island Effect

The present invention relates to a method of regulating and controlling surface temperature of concrete or asphalt structure (the structure) and the like, as well as atmospheric or air temperature around the structure by encapsulating and containing temperature (thermal) control materials (TCMs) or / and water in the structure which constructs or constitutes pavements, roofs, parking lots, walls and the like. Volume ratio of water and one or more TCMs encapsulated and contained in the structure are from 0.01% to 99.99%. Based on simulation analysis, on one hand, the present invention, in summertime, can reduce the highest temperature on surface of the structure by up to 56.5% (reduced by about 46° C.), and reduce the highest temperature of air around the structure by up to 54.4% (reduced by about 48° C.), therefore “heat island” effect in urban areas in summer can significantly be reduced, thus saving cooling energy and benefiting human health. On the other hand, in wintertime, by the invention the surface temperature of the structure can be raised by up to 5.6° C., and the temperature of air around the structure can be raised by up to 5° C., accordingly heating energy demand is reduced.

Intercooler cartridge assembly design for improving internal combustion engine performance

A method and design for cooling the temperature of induction air fed into a motor vehicle engine, which includes an intercooler housed in an induction plenum. The intake side of the plenum feeds air compressed by a supercharger or turbocharger to the intercooler core. The intercooler core consists of a series of cooling cylinders, held side by side in an arched arrangement by a rigid cartridge. The use of the multiple cooling cylinders increases the surface area of the intercooler presented to the airstream, and thus the efficiency of the intercooler. The use of a rigid cartridge that contains the cooling cylinders, and fits inside a pair of matching machined end caps which simultaneously hold the cartridge and feed coolant to the intercooler cores, enables efficient assembly of the intercooler. The system design is readily adaptable for various engine conformations.

Projector apparatus

The invention enables efficient cooling of: a light source providing source light; an optical system adapted to split the source light received from the light source into three primary colors R, G, and B; and a power supply unit for supplying electric power to various electric components installed in a casing of a projector apparatus. To do so, a first fan is arranged between the light source and the power supply unit such that its air inspiration face is directed to the power supply unit and its air expiration face is directed to the light source. Further, a second fan, adapted to inspire air from within the projector apparatus, is provided in the central area of the projector apparatus. On the air expiration side of the second fan is a cooling duct for cooling the light source and optical system. In addition, a third fan for cooling a G-LCP unit and an R-LCP unit of the image synthesizing device and a fourth fan for cooling a B-LCP and an R-LCP unit of the image synthesizing device are provided in such a way that the streams of air expired from said third and fourth fans intersect each other. The invention allows operation of a projector apparatus with a fewer fans, yet achieves suppression of exhaust air temperature and noise, and cost reduction as well.

The method adopted by the invention is a simple production method with high throughput for the production of the photovoltaic device with low cost and high efficiency.
