Method and Apparatus for Elevating a Marine Platform

A method of elevating the deck area of a marine platform (e.g., oil and gas well drilling or production platform) utilizes a specially configured sleeve support to support the platform legs so that they can be cut. Once cut, rams or jacks elevate the platform above the cuts. The sleeve support is then connected (e.g., welded) to the platform leg and becomes part of the structural support for the platform. In one embodiment, two sleeves are employed. In another embodiment, the jacks or rams elevate in two stages including a first stage wherein one sleeve elevates and the other sleeve does not elevate and a second stage wherein both sleeves elevate together.

Dual capacity sink

A dual capacity sink has two basins divided by a divider which extends to a much lesser height than the peripheral walls of the sink. In one capacity the sink is capable of holding a volume of fluid, such as soap or rinse water, in one or both of the basins up to the top the divider. In this capacity, the basins can be used individually, for example, one to wash and one to rinse. In another capacity the sink is capable of holding a second volume of fluid using the two basins and also the available space in the sink above the divider. In this second capacity the sink effectively becomes a large single basin sink. There is sufficient fluid in the sink above the divider for submerging items that are larger than either of the basins individually. A method of washing items in such a sink is also disclosed.

Tension Roller Assembly for a Belt Drive

A tension roller assembly includes a tension roller, a pivotable support arm, a tension arm, a compression spring, a rod, first and second spring stops, a mounting plate, and an overcenter assembly connected to an end of the tension arm. The overcenter assembly connects the tension arm to the mounting plate. The overcenter assembly is configured to make a pivoting movement over a pivot trajectory between engaged and disengaged positions. The overcenter assembly further has a center position located between the engaged and disengaged positions. The pivot trajectory between the center position and the disengaged position is divided into a tensioned section in which the end stop does not engage the stop surface and the spring exerts a force on the overcenter assembly, and a free-moving section in which the end stop engages the stop surface and the spring does not exert any force on the overcenter assembly.

Firearm with locking lug bolt, and components thereof, for accurate field shooting

Components of a firearm having a bolt with locking lugs improve shooting accuracy, due to increased coaxial alignment between the bolt, the cartridge, the receiver, and / or the barrel of a firearm. The receiver inner surface is shaped for lug-cleaning and for close tolerance / mating with the lugs only in the locked position and also with a non-threaded, axial surface of the barrel. Thus, the mating surfaces that are instrumental and / or that mainly control coaxial alignment of the receiver, bolt, and barrel are located between the lug stops and the threaded end of the receiver. The lugs may be axially curved or otherwise axially non-linear to tolerate dirt and other debris in a field environment.
