System and method for issuing commands based on pen motions on a graphical keyboard

A command pattern recognition system based on a virtual keyboard layout combines pattern recognition with a virtual, graphical, or on-screen keyboard to provide a command control method with relative ease of use. The system allows the user conveniently issue commands on pen-based computing or communication devices. The system supports a very large set of commands, including practically all commands needed for any application. By utilizing shortcut definitions it can work with any existing software without any modification. In addition, the system utilizes various techniques to achieve reliable recognition of a very large gesture vocabulary. Further, the system provides feedback and display methods to help the user effectively use and learn command gestures for commands.

Secure digital delivery seal for information handling system

A method and apparatus for ensuring the security of a particular configuration of hardware and software for an information handling system that is assembled using a “build-to-order” system. The present invention ensures the security and integrity of data on an information handling system from the point of manufacture to the final destination at the customer's facility. The information handling system is then manufactured with the operating system and a predetermined set of software being installed thereon. A manifest file is constructed comprising a predetermined set of data files and configuration information. The manifest file is digitally signed with at least one digital key. When the information handling system performs its initial boot, a second digital key, securely stored in a Trusted Platform Module (TPM), is used to extract information from the manifest file and the existing data files and configuration information is compared to the information contained in the manifest file. If any of the information compared to the manifest has been altered, the initial boot is designated as “invalid” and the user is notified of the potential for a breach of security.

Voice processing system

A voice processing system is disclosed having a first interface for receiving telephone calls from the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and application software for processing received PSTN telephone calls. The voice processing system supports an API to allow the first interface to inform the application software of the presence of the call. The voice processing system further has a second interface for receiving telephone calls from an internet protocol (IP) network, and a signaling subsystem for routing an IP call from the second interface to the application software. This signaling subsystem uses the same API as is used to inform the application software about PSTN calls. Therefore, it is transparent to the application software whether an incoming call has been received from the IP network rather than the PSTN.

Advanced multi-network client device for wideband multimedia access to private and public wireless networks

ActiveUS20090024728A1Agile and robustSupports accessAssess restrictionPosition fixationAir interfaceTechnology adaptation
A wireless device (e.g., a wireless smart phone) uses Global Positioning System (GPS) data, or other position-indicating data, to accurately determine its location in relation to multi-layered wireless networks that the device may see concurrently. If location information is available, the device employs a user-defined priority table to select the order of user-contracted networks available at that location in which the device will register. If location information is unavailable, the device employs a technology priority table to select Common Air Interface (CAI) options for the invention device radio parameters (e.g., GSM, cdma2000, IS-136, IEEE 802.11x, etc.) to search for an available network to access. Information is gathered and stored in databases within the invention device allowing it to be registered in multiple wireless networks. The inventive device provides unique access codes to each wireless network with which a user has contracted, without the intervention of any “anchor” (home) network. The invention facilitates equivalent “home”, or personalized, service in any network by using these features for automatic technology adaptation. This allows the invention device to receive service as if it is in a “home” network no matter what network it is traveling through. The invention provides a ubiquitous experience allowing the user to traverse multiple wireless networks with seamless access to multiple systems and services provided by those networks. It also provides a platform to facilitate the customization of wireless services for business customers.

Additive Fabrication of Proppants

Ceramic inks formulated for additive formation of proppants are provided, as well as methods of manufacturing such ink and ink systems including such ink. The proppant formed can contain a proppant core, a proppant shell, a proppant outer coating or any combination thereof. Additive methods for forming proppants are also provided. The ceramic ink can be applied drop-wise, linearly, in a planar fashion, or any combination thereof to form proppants. Additive fabricators configured to produce proppant are further provided, as are systems including the same and software for running the same.
