A system and a method for detecting availability of a parking space in a parking facility are provided. A first method has the steps of providing a lighting system having at least one visible-light source for illumination of at least part of the parking space. Providing an available space time-of-flight trace. Providing an availability threshold value. Illuminating the at least part of the parking space using the at least one visible-light source. Emitting a status visible-light signal from the visible-light source in the predetermined direction toward the predetermined target in the parking space. Capturing a status reflection trace at the visible-light source. Determining a time-of-flight difference value by comparing the status reflection trace to the available space time-of-flight trace. Comparing the time-of-flight difference value with the availability threshold value and determining a status of the parking space to be one of available and not available. Another method has the steps of providing a lighting system having at least one visible-light source for illumination of at least part of the parking space. Providing a camera. Providing an available space region value. Providing an availability threshold value. Illuminating the at least part of the parking space using the at least one visible-light source. Emitting visible light from the visible-light source in the predetermined direction to the predetermined target in the parking space. Capturing a reflection of the emitted visible light at the camera and determining a status region value. Determining a region difference value by comparing the status region value to the available space region value. Comparing the region difference value with the availability threshold value and determining a status of the parking space to be one of available and not available.

Integrated System for Remote Monitoring Home Appliances by Cell Phone

The present invention discloses an integrated system for remote monitoring home appliances by a cell phone. In the integrated system, a cell phone sends an instruction message to a computer by a wireless network. A digital control disk connected with the computer generates a control signal in accordance with the instruction message. The control signal is sent by a wireless transceiver circuit to a home appliance. Moreover, a state signal that includes information of the home appliance operation can be sent to the digital control disk. Through the computer connecting to the wireless network, the cell phone is informed of the information of the home appliance operation. Thereby, the user can control the home appliances and acquire the current operation states of the home appliances by his / her cell phone.

Management of working status with large-scaled display

The object of the present invention is to ensure information sharing in a factory and enhance the production efficiency.
The management system of the present invention utilizes a liquid crystal projector PRJ to project an image of management information on a large-scaled display in the factory. A screen SCR is located at a specific position that allows each worker to simultaneously recognize the display and the object of the display (for example, in the case of a storehouse, the storage status of products). The contents of the display are varied according to the location of the display: for example, (1) instructions and actual conditions of storage of products in the storehouse; and (2) requirement of parts from assembly lines to a parts warehouse and status of delivery of parts from the parts warehouse. In a staff room of managers, information with regard to a first process, which is upstream most in the work flow in the factory (status of carrying-in work of parts and materials from outside) and information with regard to a last process, which is downstream most in the work flow (status of shipment) are displayed simultaneously. Such display enables workers in various sections and managers to accurately grasp the working status in the factory in real time, thus attaining the smooth operations and enhancing the production efficiency.

Noise attenuator and vehicle air intake duct provided therewith

A noise attenuator which can reduce time and cost for installation thereof as compared with the conventional configuration and a vehicle air intake duct provided with the noise attenuator are provided. The noise attenuator includes a pair of circular through holes formed through a duct wall, a pair of wave transmitting / receiving membrane which are stretched so as to close the circular through holes, and a seesaw member which connects between central portions of the paired transmitting / receiving membranes. Accordingly, when one of the membranes receives a sound wave of noise thereby to be vibrated at a predetermined frequency, the other membrane follows it and is also vibrated while shifted by a half cycle. As a result, a cancellation wave with a phase opposite to the sound wave received by the one membrane is transmitted from the other membrane, whereupon the noise can be attenuated.
