Wristband/cinch with label assembly business form and method

A business form particularly adapted for use in a medical or hospital environment includes in a first embodiment a wristband assembly that is readily separable from a carrier comprised of a layer of face stock and a laminate, with the wristband including a printable face stock region die cut into the face stock and a strap portion, a laminating portion, and a cinch die cut into the laminate layer. The laminating portion includes two halves which fold together about a fold line to enclose the face stock, with the strap portion extending from one of said halves. The cinch may be located in one of two locations, either in an extension from the other side of the face stock or intermediate the face stock and the strap portion. In either case the cinch comprises a slot through which the strap portion is inserted and then adhered to itself after its length has been adjusted by the medical professional. If an extension is provided, it may be folded over to adhere to the strap portion and clamp it in place there as well as being adhered at its end back onto itself, as described. An extender is also described which includes a clamshell joinder and a tail portion. The clamshell portion may be applied to the strap portion anywhere along its length to extend the effective length of the strap portion. Any of the wristband constructions may be provided on a page sized sheet along with a plurality of self adhering labels, in any of a number of configurations, to suit any particular application, as desired by a user.

Compound bows

Improved compound bows which are smaller, more compact, lighter, and more easily handled and serviced than compound bows of conventional construction but are nevertheless capable of propelling an arrow at an equal or higher velocity and with comparable or greater accuracy than a conventional bow. The improved bows are quieter than those of conventional construction and less apt to snag on brush or other obstacles. They have a rigid riser with ends to which string cams are rotatably mounted and cam-associated power units mounted to and towards the ends of the riser. Each power unit has a component which is elastically deformed to store potential energy as the bow is drawn and a power cable connecting the power storing component to the associated string cam. A bow string extends between and is connected at its opposite ends to the string cams. As the bow is drawn, the string cams are rotated in counter directions, pulling on the power unit cables and thereby elastically deforming and storing potential energy in the power unit components. When the bow string is subsequently released, the elastically deformable power unit components restore to rest configurations, this converting the stored potential energy to arrow propelling kinetic energy. A timing cable arrangement insures that the cams are synchronized to rotate in unison, avoiding the unwanted nock travel that might otherwise occur; and the power units have an adjustment feature which allows the force required to fully draw the bow to be changed.

Electronic timepiece and control method for an electronic timepiece

An electronic timepiece includes a reception unit that receives satellite signals transmitted from positioning information satellites; a time information generating unit that generates an internal time; a manual reception process unit that starts operation of the reception unit and executes a manual reception process when an external operating member is operated; an automatic reception process unit that automatically operates the reception unit and executes an automatic reception process when a predetermined condition is satisfied; a simple time adjustment process unit that executes a simple time adjustment process to receive a satellite signal from one positioning information satellite by means of the reception unit, acquire time information from the received satellite signal, and adjust the internal time; and a high precision time adjustment process unit that executes a high precision time adjustment process to receive satellite signals from a plurality of positioning information satellites by means of the reception unit, acquire time information and positioning information from the received satellite signals and determine the location, and adjust the internal time to the time acquired based on the positioning result. The automatic reception process unit executes the simple time adjustment process by means of the simple time adjustment process unit when the automatic reception process executes, and the high precision time adjustment process unit executes the high precision time adjustment process only when the manual reception process is executed by the manual reception process unit.

Snow board brake

A braking device for slowing a snow board which is to be used by novice or inexperienced users. The invention is comprised of a blade which is affixed either between the rear boot attachment means and the rear of the snow board or on the bottom upturned portion of the rear end of the snow board. The blade is adjustably angled forward against the snow in the direction of travel. When the blade is in the lowered position it cuts snow and directs the cut snow upward over the blade. A slot in the snow board just ahead of the blade allows the snow to pass upward through the snow board. Alternately for another embodiment, the blade is held in a bracket which is affixed to the rear upturned surface of the snow board. For this embodiment of the invention, the cut snow is directed upward between the blade and its supporting structure. The preferred embodiment of the invention is to employ a broad straight bottom edge for the blade about 4 inches wide with a maximum depth of cut of about 1 / 2 inch. An acceptable angle of cut of the angled blade can range from a vertical position to about 45 degrees downward and forward. When the snow board is not being used, the blade is repositioned by loosening the blade and sliding or rotating it relative to its support with tightening of the blade fixing means for its final securement. In another embodiment, a fixed blade in the form of a angle is attached directly to the bottom of the snow board perpendicular to the length of the snow board. Such blades can extend downward different distances to provide different amounts of drag.

An object of the invention is to provide a structure for suppressing occurrence of a track offset in a tracking control using DPP method, and simplified apparatus assembly adjustment. When a diffraction grating provided in an optical pick-up apparatus, diffracts light irradiated from a semiconductor laser at least into zero-order diffraction light and ± first-order diffraction light, disposed adjacent to diffraction area alternately in an extension direction of a grating groove, and an effective diameter of light beam with which the diffraction grating is irradiated is D, and a number of divisions into which the effective diameter D is divided is m (m is an integer of 3 or more), a width W1 and a width W2 are formed to meet W1=W2=D / m.
