Connector apparatus adapted for the direct plug-in connection of conductors

An electrical connector arrangement includes a resilient contact adapted for direct engagement with the bare wire of an insulated conductor without the use of any assembly tool, characterized in that the resilient contact includes a first leg having a first end containing a window opening, a second leg having a first end extending at an acute angle through the window opening for clamping engagement with a conductor bare wire that is also inserted in the same direction therein, and a connecting portion connecting the other ends of the first and second legs to define a closed loop. A clamping edge at the extremity of the first end of the second resilient contact leg engages the bare wire and cooperates with a first edge of the window opening to prevent the withdrawal of the bare wire from the window opening. A conductive bus bar may be provided that includes a projecting portion that extends into the window opening between the bare wire and the window first edge, whereby the bare wire is clamped between the clamping edge of the second leg of the resilient contact and the bus bar projecting portion.

Non-lethal telescoping cartridge

A low-impulse, non-lethal telescoping cartridge for deployment of non-lethal ordnance. The cartridge includes a payload cup containing at least one non-lethal projectile. The payload cup is telescopically mounted upon a cartridge case base. When fired, the payload cup telescopes out from the base and releases the non-lethal projectiles at a non-lethal velocity. The telescoping feature of the cartridge allows the cartridge to be fired from an automatic weapon, such as a 40 mm MK19 grenade machine gun.

Centrifugal separator

A centrifugal separator for separating oil from a gas stream, particularly for venting the crankcase of an internal combustion engine, having a housing (2) in which the flow guiding means are arranged. The flow guiding means are connected to a drive shaft (3). A gas inlet (5) opens into the housing (2), and a gas outlet (6) and an oil outlet (7) lead out of the housing (2). An easily produced and functionally reliable arrangement is obtained if the housing (2) is non-rotatably mounted and an impeller (14) with blades (11) that produce a centrifugal flow is disposed in the housing (2) such that it is rotatable about the longitudinal axis (4) of the drive shaft (3).

DC/DC converter

An external resistor is connected to a detection terminal. A pulse modulator is configured to generate a pulse signal SPWM having a duty ratio adjusted such that the output voltage VOUT of a DC / DC converter approaches a target value. A pulse modulator is configured to switch the pulse signal SPWM to a level that corresponds to the off level of the switching transistor according to a detection voltage VS that develops at the detection terminal. A short-circuit detection circuit is configured to generate a short-circuit detection signal which is asserted when the detection voltage VS is higher than a predetermined threshold voltage VTH after a judgment time elapses after the pulse signal SPWM is switched to an on level that corresponds to the on state of the switching transistor. When the short-circuit detection signal is asserted, the pulse modulator is configured to switch the pulse signal SPWM to the off level.

Power and safety control hub

This power and safety control hub for overall power control, safety control and power distribution integrates fault tolerant power disconnect control, software monitoring of disconnect and multi-voltage power distribution and disconnect with non-hazardous power control, EMI filtering and multi-circuit current protection in a single unit. In addition, it implements electromagnetic, single fault tolerant, safety control circuits without using positively driven contact relays. It coordinates the shutdown of any connected mechanical drives such as servo motor drives, stepper motor drives and variable speed drives autonomously commanding them to come to a controlled stop before safety power is disconnected (when networked controls are used). It also integrates segmented hazardous power control (load/unload and main machine/equipment areas) so that the main area can be operating while the load/unload area has power disconnected. Further, it automatically discharges energy sources within connected mechanical drives at the time of safety power disconnect of hazardous power. It also utilizes a safety control and monitoring algorithm that automatically forces the test on e-stop switches and interlocks in a machine each time the machine is powered up or reset. In addition, it has a state driven safety control and monitoring algorithm that pinpoints wiring and device problems for rapid debug. It includes internal self-protection that automatically forces a control safety power disconnect (after warning the host) if the unit should approach its maximum operating temperature, or if a cooling fan stops. Further, it incorporates safety monitoring software for the synchronous de-bouncing of the interlock and e-stop switch inputs (as a vector) to eliminate false trips. It also integrates a comprehensive audible overcurrent trip indicator as well as individual visual overcurrent indicators in the power distribution system and an e-stop reset function into the machine on-off front panel switch. Finally, our power and safety control hub for overall power control, safety control and power distribution includes a “soft-off” circuit that automatically shuts off the machine when the power supply voltage to a host computer is shut down.

Evaporative container for volatile substances

A container (1) for volatile substances which can be evaporated by an evaporation device is disclosed having a container body (2) in which the volatile substances are contained. A container neck (3) extends away from the container body (2) in which a container opening (4) is formed. Furthermore, a wick retaining insert (8) in the form of a cylindrical sleeve is provided that can be placed in the container opening (4) of the container neck (3). There is an insert wick passage (9) for the insertion of the wick (10) having an outside wall (13) which presses, at least partially, against an inside container neck wall (15) in a wick clamping connection when inserted. Wick retention is provided by the insert so that wick (10) is secured from being pulled out of the container (1) when inserted. According to the invention wick (10) can be inserted through wick passage (9) of wick retaining insert (8) when the wick retaining insert is not inserted. The wick clamping connection for the wick retention is at least partially made in form of a clamping connection (26) which wedges the wick (10) against an inside wall of wick retaining insert which secures it from being pulled out when the wick retaining insert (8) is inserted.
