The invention relates to an assembly for sterilizing surfaces and lumens of a medical device with a light source. The light source can emit light that reduces the number of or removes micro organisms from the lumen and/or surfaces of the medical device. The invention relates to an assembly comprising—a medical device for transporting fluids having a lumen and a first connector part, and—at least one light source configured to emit light having bactericidal effect which light source has a corresponding second connector part, and comprises an optical window being transparent for light from the light source allowing the light to the inlet of the lumen of the medical device and protecting the light source from liquid gaining access to the light source,—a separate non-transparent unit being provided with a first coupling part and a second coupling part, where the first coupling part of the separate non-transparent unit during use is joined to the corresponding connector part (5) of the light source and the second coupling part during use is joined to the connector part of the medical device. The first connector part of the medical device and the second corresponding connector part of the light source via the non-transparent unit can be joined such that the light source is placed outside and in extension of the lumen of the medical device before exposure to light.

The circuit board has at least one recess and at least one thermally conducting element disposed in the recess. The light-emitting chip is disposed on the thermally conducting element and connected to the circuit board via contact pads electrically connected to a circuit layout of the circuit board. In addition, the light-emitting chip is package by a filler on the circuit board. A packaging method of the light-emitting heat-dissipating device is also disclosed.

Illumination device and reflection type liquid crystal display device using the same

Disclosed are an illumination device capable of improving an optical efficiency of a light generated from a light source and a reflection type liquid crystal device using the, illumination device. Between at least one light source and a first light guiding plate, which is provided to uniformly project the light incident from a first side towards a second side, a second light guiding plate for projecting the incident light towards the first side of the first light guiding plate is provided. A distance between a light projecting portion of the second light guiding plate and a light reflecting portion opposite the light projecting portion becomes narrow as an amount of light flux of the light emitted from at least one light source decreases. Accordingly, the light efficiency can be improved by increasing the probability of variation in optical routes for the light generated from each light source, though the number of the light sources disposed at a side of the second light guiding plate is increased.
