Data translation device with nonvolatile memory for a networked medical device system

A fluid infusion system as described herein includes a number of local “body network” devices, such as an infusion pump, a handheld monitor or controller, a physiological sensor, and a bedside or hospital monitor. The body network devices can be configured to support communication of status data, physiological information, alerts, control signals, and other information between one another. In addition, the body network devices can be configured to support networked communication of status data, physiological information, alerts, control signals, and other information between the body network devices and “external” devices, systems, or communication networks. Such external communication allows the infusion system to be extended beyond the traditional short-range user environment.

Mobile communication terminal with RFID function and RFID programming method in the same

A mobile communication terminal including a radio frequency identification (RFID) receiver for receiving RFID data in a first format. An operation device converts the RFID data in the first format into a second format. A memory stores the RFID data in the second format. A codec encodes RFID data stored in the memory. A modulator RFID-modulates data output from the codec. An RFID transmitter transmits data output from the modulator to an RFID reader.

Osd-synthesized image decoding device, osd-synthesized image decoding method, program, and recording medium

An OSD composite image decoding apparatus includes a selection device for selecting plural types of decoded image data, a conversion device for converting the selected decoded image data to 1080i, a generating device for generating OSD for 1080i to be synchronously superimposed on the format-converted image data, and a superimposing device for superimposing the generated OSD for 1080i and the image data format-converted to the 1080i image resolution format on each other. The apparatus also includes a converter for converting the superimposed 1080i image data to 480p or 480i, a switching device for switching between 1080i, 480p and 480i for each of output terminals, and a processing device for informing the selection device of decoded image data desired to be decoded and instructing the switching device to perform switching so that the decoded image data becomes suited to the image resolution format of an externally connected display device.

System and method of an in-band modem for data communications over digital wireless communication networks

A system is provided for transmitting information through a speech codec (in-band) such as found in a wireless communication network. A modulator transforms the data into a spectrally noise-like signal based on the mapping of a shaped pulse to predetermined positions within a modulation frame, and the signal is efficiently encoded by a speech codec. A synchronization sequence provides modulation frame timing at the receiver and is detected based on analysis of a correlation peak pattern. A request / response protocol provides reliable transfer of data using message redundancy, retransmission, and / or robust modulation modes dependent on the communication channel conditions.

Adjustable serial-to-parallel or parallel-to-serial converter

A clock synchronizer may include two programmable counters, one which may be programmed with a bit-rate value so that it generates a signal approximately matching the bit rate of the asynchronous data signal, and the other programmed with a phase-delay value so that it generates a sample clock signal at a phase delay from the signal generated by the first counter. The phase of the sample clock may be adjusted by restarting the counters in response to a transition on the asynchronous data signal. Data may be supplied to a serial-to-parallel converter including a first shift register configured to shift a data word in serially and output the data word in parallel and a second shift register configured to track when the data word had been completely shifted into the first shift register and to cause the data word to be outputted in parallel from the first shift register so that a new word may be shifted into the first shift register. A status value may be loaded into the second shift register so that when the last bit is converted in the first shift register, the second shift register shifts out a conversion completed indication. The bit length to be converted may be changed by loading a different status value into the second shift register. This same technique may be employed in a parallel-to-serial data converter or in a general data converter that may convert from serial-to-parallel or parallel-to-serial according to a conversion-type signal.

Image processing device and image processing method

In a black character detection processing, RGB data read from a line buffer is converted into YIQ data. For a subject pixel, a subject area centered on the subject pixel is set, and a judgment pixel that has the lowest brightness in the subject area is set. Then, a judgment area is set as being centered on the judgment pixel. If the absolute values of the averages of chroma components I and Q in the judgment area are both less than the corresponding thresholds T1 and T2, the subject pixel is determined as being an achromatic pixel. Black codes are added to fine-line pixels and edge pixels if the fine-line pixels and edge pixels are determined as being achromatic. Thus, the fine-line pixels and edge pixels can be specified as to be printed in black monochromatic ink. Therefore, black character or similar fine-line or edge part images can be outputted with high quality.
