A method for calibrating the calculation of a laser power measurement with respect to specified operational and / or environmental parameters in an optoelectronic device, such as an optical transceiver module having a laser diode, is disclosed. In particular, the method includes sensing analog data that relates to light emission from the laser diode using a monitor photodiode disposed in the optical transceiver module. Additional sensors are then used to sense analog data that relates to the temperature and voltage of the monitor photodiode. The analog data is converted into digital data, then a formulaic relationship that relates the light emission data to the temperature and voltage data is used to calculate the laser power of the laser diode. Calibration by this method accounts for unintended effects caused by temperature and voltage fluctuations in the optical transceiver module.

Method for determining steampath efficiency of a steam turbine section with internal leakage

A method of more accurately measuring steam turbine efficiency is disclosed in which the sealing steam in the steam turbine is re-routed so that a more accurate measure of steam turbine efficiency can be made. Some of the steam entering a turbine goes into the turbine's end pack and then mixes with the steam that goes through the turbine. Piping is added from one of the end pack line's to the condenser. This added line has a valve, pressure, temperature and flow measuring devices. As the valve is opened, the amount of flow going to the end pack line allowing the end pack steam mix with the steam that goes through the turbine is reduced. As the flow in this line is reduced the measured temperature at the turbine exhaust will also decrease. The amount that the valve is opened is increased until either the exhaust temperature has reached a minimum, or the enthalpy in the pipe changes from the initial enthalpy.

The method comprises: acquiring historical failure data of the relay protection apparatus, and according to a predetermined basis of determination, screening out random failure data and ageing failure data from the historical failure data; estimating a random failure rate lambda 0 on the random failure data by adopting an estimation method for a constant failure rate; with respect to the aging failure data, performing distribution calculation on the aging failure data by using a mathematical expectation formula as an empirical distribution function, and performing fitting calculation on a distribution calculation result to obtain a failure probabilistic distribution function of the relay protection apparatus so as to calculate an aging failure rate lambda 1(t); and according to the random failure rate lambda 0 and the ageing failure rate lambda 1(t), estimating the time-varying failure rate of the relay protection apparatus. The method provided by the present invention can be applied to the time-varying failure property study based on the failure data of the protection apparatus in a station, so that the calculation of the failure rate better meets an actual condition, and the failure state of the apparatus can be predicted according to a calculation result.
