Articles including anticondensation and/or low-E coatings and/or methods of making the same

Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to articles including anticondensation and / or low-E coatings that are exposed to an external environment, and / or methods of making the same. In certain example embodiments, the anticondensation and / or low-E coatings may be survivable in an outside environment. The coatings also may have a sufficiently low sheet resistance and hemispherical emissivity such that the glass surface is more likely to retain heat from the interior area, thereby reducing (and sometimes completely eliminating) the presence condensation thereon. The articles of certain example embodiments may be, for example, skylights, vehicle windows or windshields, IG units, VIG units, refrigerator / freezer doors, and / or the like.

Assembly system for thermoacoustic windows

InactiveUS6209269B1Reduces window vibrationCorner/edge jointsFixed grillesEngineeringFusion welding
An assembly system used to build two pane thermoacoustic windows for houses and buildings is provided. The assembly system uses a set of profiles and joints and a permanently installed valve to assemble the window frame without a fusion welding machine. The system creates an airtight chamber directly on the frame. The valve allows the assembler to evacuate the air in the airtight chamber to make a vacuum, or to inflow a gas. The system improves the insulating thermal and acoustic capacity of the window, and allows a supplier to sell the components to build the window, which is then assembled by snapping together profiles and joints. The system can also be applied to assembly one pane window and for other purposes.

Method of treating a glazing panel

The present invention relates to a method of treating a glazing panel from an inside location. Moreover, the present invention relates to a method of treating glazing panels used in windows and patio doors. Initially, an orifice is formed on both the inside and outside panes on windows and on the side and outside frames of patio doors. Then, particulate matter such as dirt, dust, and mineral deposits are purged from the enclosed volume of the glazing panel by applying a cleaning solution via the orifice. Next, a valve is attached to the outside pane / frame to cover the orifice whereby the valve is designed to reduce the amount of precipitation or matter from entering while allowing air to exit the glazing panel. Finally, a seal is used to cover the orifice on the inside pane or side frame to ensure that the building air does not enter the interior of the glazing panel. The method can also be used to treat windows for high altitude transport, or to prevent explosion in the presence of intense heat.

Air heated, flexible door panel

A door system for a cold storage locker that includes resilient door panels that flex and have increased resistance to damage when hit by a forklift. A high degree of insulation is achieved by the choice and thickness of the resilient foams therein. Also, the resilient door panels are magnetically attracted to a gasket seal on a doorframe to provide an affirmative seal. Active magnetic control may enhance the attraction or repulsion of the door panel. Frost control is realized by warming air from the cold storage locker and passing it through air channels in the door panel proximate to the gasket seal and down an astragal interface between door panels. Door panels of laminate, bagged poured foam formation, and self-skinning foam formation further reduce the cost of manufacture and shipping.

Window condensation control

A window air handler mounted to a window admits a supply of air from inside the building at the top of the window and blows that air downwardly and onto the inner surface of the window. A leg depends downwardly from an air inlet, to air outlets which express the air across the width of the window. The air can be ambient, or heated. The so-expressed air warms the glass enough to avoid condensation on the glass, or to remove and absorb condensation which has already formed on the glass. The air handler can comprise a single leg extending down along one side of the window or two legs extending down along opposing sides of the window. Air inlets are proximate the tops of the legs, and air outlets are below the inlets.
