Methods and apparatus for creation of parsing rules

Techniques for parsing rule creation are provided. A technique for constructing one or more message parsing rules may comprise the following steps. First, message data representing past messages, for example, associated with a network, an application and / or a system being analyzed, is obtained. For example, this may involve reading the past or historical message data from messages logs or having a system point to the message data in existing data storage. Parsing rules are then generated by a process from one or more existing rule templates and / or based on user selection and classification of at least a portion of a message. For example, the user may choose a message part and demonstratively classify the part, for example, as a positive or negative example. The generated rules may then be stored for access by a rule-based parsing system such as a message adaptation system. Prior to generation of the one or more parsing rules, a message structure may be established upon which generation of the rules may be based.

System, method and computer program product for dynamically changing message priority or message sequence number in a message queuing system based on processing conditions

A message sequence number or message priority level stored in a queue maintained by a message queuing system may be dynamically changed based on processing conditions by the use of a message sequence regulator (MSR) system. The MSR system includes a message parser, a message extraction repository, a rules repository, a message definition repository, an interface to a resource monitor for monitoring system resources by single resource monitoring agents, and a notification component for identifying sequence regulation operations which cannot be executed. The MSR system receives copies of messages loaded into or retrieved from queues by a queue manager as well as event messages from the resource monitor. The message extracts parts of the message using message structures defined in the rules repository and stores the extracted parts in the message extraction repository. If a defined condition is found to exist, the MSR system initiates calculation of an appropriate message sequence number or message priority level. The queue manager updates the message record without removing the message from the queue.

Runtime validation of messages for enhanced web service processing

Inbound processing of web service request messages at runtime is enhanced by providing validation of the message structure against corresponding schema, at an intermediary web service server rather than at the web service application (e.g., web service application). Hence, there is minimal delay in responding to the client upon determining an invalid message structure, and unnecessary processing of invalid messages by the web service application is avoided.

Scheduler supporting web service invocation

The present invention proposes a method and a corresponding system for scheduling invocation of web services from a central point of control. For this purpose, a scheduler (205) accesses a workload database (220), which associates an execution agent (210) and a descriptor (240) with each job to be submitted. In the proposed solution, the descriptor identifies a desired web service (255) and the address of the corresponding WSDL document (245), which specify the structure of the messages supported by the web service (for example, conforming to the SOAP specification); the descriptor also includes the actual content of a request message to be passed to the web service. Whenever the job is submitted for execution (according to a predefined plan), the scheduler sends its descriptor to the associated agent. In response thereto, the agent downloads the WSDL document of the corresponding web service; a request message (250) for the web service is then built embedding the desired content into the structure specified in the WSDL document. The agent sends the request message to an endpoint implementing the web service (as specified in the WSDL document), so as to cause its invocation.

Approach for discovering network resources

An approach is provided for discovering network resources using s Simple Binary Resource Discovery (SBRD) message structure. According to the approach, a network resource is configured to generate and transmit a plurality of multicast “Hello” messages to a plurality of recipients to indicate that the network resource is available and ready. If the network resource receives a multicast “Query” message from a particular recipient from the plurality of recipients, the network resource determines whether the multicast “Query” message includes identification data that identifies the network resource or type data that matches one or more type attributes of the network resource. If so, then the network resource generates and transmits a unicast “Acknowledge” message to the particular recipient to acknowledge the multicast “Query” message and to indicate that the network resource is available and ready. The time intervals in between the multicast “Hello” messages may increase in duration over time.

Message translation and parsing of data structures in a distributed component architecture

InactiveUS20050097566A1Efficiently parseEfficiently translateInterprogram communicationMultiple digital computer combinationsUser needsMessage structure
The present invention is related to systems and methods that parse and / or translate inbound messages into outbound messages such that disparate computer systems can communicate intelligibly. In one embodiment, a system recursively parses the inbound message such that relatively fewer outbound message structure definitions are required and advantageously decreases the usage of resources by the system. Further, one system in accordance with the present invention allows an operator to configure the identity of a delimiter in the inbound message. The delimiter can span multiple characters and includes the logical inverse of a set of delimiters. The outbound message can be accessed at nodes within a hierarchy, as well as at leaves. Thus, a user need not know the precise location of data within the outbound message. A set of updating rules further permits the updating of an outbound message without having to re-parse an entire inbound message.

Publication of informational messages to software applications in a computing environment

A “push” based publication model in which messages are sent automatically to communicate event related data to other system applications when an event occurs that causes a change to a persistent data store. A shadow table stores records relating to information stored in the main table. Each record is assigned a sequentially ordered identification code. A high water mark table stores the identification number of the last message published for a group of messages, and thus points to where publication last stopped. By using sequentially ordered codes, it is readily apparent from a gap in the sequence codes whether a record / message is missing. The shadow table may be configured as an Index Ordered Table to eliminate a query “hop” from the index table to the shadow table. The persistent store is queried to identify changes in persistent store structure, and the message structure is modified automatically to reflect any changes.
