Electrical plug connector with cable manager

An electrical connector includes a connector housing (2) and a printed circuit board (3) with two sets of contact elements (7, 8). The first set of contact elements (7) is located on the front face of the printed circuit board (3) and protrudes into an opening in the plug connector housing (2). The second set of contact elements (8) is located on the rear face of the printed circuit board (3). The contact elements of the second set (8) are configured to form insulation-displacement contacts (8). The plug connector (1) also includes a cable manager (5) which has a continuous opening (13) and is configured on the front face (16) with guides (19) for cores or wires which are intended to make contact with the insulation-displacement contacts (8). The guides (19) in the region of the insulation-displacement contacts (8) are configured with recessed receiving elements or holders (20) for the insulation-displacement contacts (8), and the cable manager (5) can be latched to the plug connector housing (2).

Airbag tether retainer

An airbag tether retainer is disclosed that is of minimal size to accommodate vehicle safety and styling requirements and yields to conform to contours of a vehicle pillar. The tether retainer is interchangeable with left or right vehicle pillars thus reducing fabrication costs. The tether retainer imposes minimal stress on a worker attaching the retainer. In certain embodiments, the tether retainer includes a body and one or more tabs and corresponding tab locks which extend from the body. An airbag tether is positioned on the body and each tab is looped around the tether and secured to the body by a corresponding tab lock. The body may then be secured to a vehicle pillar.

Magnesium door assembly for automobiles

A lightweight automotive vehicle door assembly incorporates a modular concept having an outer door panel, an inner door panel, a reinforcement beam, and a hardware mounting module. The outer panel is preferably formed from aluminum, polypropylene or steel, while the inner door panel is preferably cast from magnesium with the hardware mounting module formed of thermoplastic. The magnesium inner panel is mounted to the outer panel by a hemming process while hardware is mounted to the inner panel through the use of two-piece thermoplastic inserts creating a dielectric barrier between the fasteners and the magnesium inner panel. The reinforcement beam is formed of a composite material consisting of a glass and carbon fiber reinforced outer skin with an interior core of polyurethane.

Index tab label insert sheets

A multilayer index tab label insert sheet assembly with removable tab label inserts. An exemplary label insert sheet includes a face stock having a plurality of foldable tab label inserts, a release coated backing sheet generally coextensive with the face stock sheet, a pressure sensitive adhesive coating between the face stock sheet and the release coated backing sheet to secure those sheets together, and a patterned varnish coating underneath the index tab label inserts to allow the label inserts to be readily removed from the release coated backing sheet.

Self-locating fastener and method

A method of forming a self-locating fastener includes determining a shape of a first contoured surface and a shape of a second contoured surface. The method continues by determining an offset of the shape of the first contoured surface and an offset of the shape of the second contoured surface. An inner contoured surface of a fastener is formed having a shape based at least in part on the offset of the shape of the first contoured surface. An outer contoured surface of the fastener is formed having a shape based at least in part on the offset of the shape of the second contoured surface. The fastener is operable to self-locate on the first and second contoured surfaces.

Accelerator pedal module

In transmitters actuated by the driver's foot, which are for controlling the output of a driving engine, a friction element is provided for generating a friction hysteresis for the purpose of achieving a comfortable driving feel. In the accelerator pedal module (1) proposed here, the support of the pedal lever (3) is completely independent of the generation of the friction hysteresis. This results in a particularly favorable, especially stable, and play-free support of the pedal lever (3), and the brake insert (10) for generating the friction hysteresis is particularly easy to manufacture. The accelerator pedal module is provided for controlling the output of a driving engine of a vehicle.
