That is, the separable air purifying apparatus includes controllers controlling the ventilation modules and a main purifier and an auxiliary purifier each which are independently operated by respective power supplies. Here, an output terminal is formed in the main purifier and an input terminal is formed in the auxiliary purifier. When assembling the main and auxiliary purifiers, the input terminal of the auxiliary purifier is connected with the output terminal of the main purifier, to thus enable the controller of the main purifier to drive the ventilation module of the auxiliary purifier, and to accordingly enable a combination operation of the main and auxiliary purifiers.

A method and an air precleaner for separating heavier-than-air particulate debris from debris laden air to provide a clean airflow are disclosed. A flow path extends through the precleaner from an inlet to an outlet. Debris laden air is drawn into the inlet by a vacuum in communication with the outlet of the precleaner. A vortex flow of the debris laden air is formed in the flow path and flows through a first stage, ejective based precleaner and a second stage, scavenger based precleaner. Each stage centrifugally separates and removes particles of debris from the vortex flow. Efficient operation under extreme conditions with significant improvement in air filter life, is made possible by the air precleaner and method.

A supply duct inlet is configured to fluidly receive air from a forced air system. An air filter and or air purification means is configured to filter / purify air. An outlet is configured to expel filtered / treated air into the room. A bypass damper system has at least one air filtering mode position and a bypass mode position. A pressure control mechanism is configured to automatically allow the bypass damper system to move from at least one air filtering mode position to a bypass mode position when the air received from the supply duct inlet exceeds a bypass threshold. The bypass mode position guides air from the supply duct inlet into the room without requiring passage through the filter and the outlet.

A hydrocyclone has a fluid inlet, a first fluid outlet and a second fluid outlet. The fluid inlet is in fluid communication with the vessel and receives the suspension. The second fluid outlet contains a flow of the suspension having concentrated microspheres. The first fluid outlet contains a flow of a relatively large amount of liquid compared to the flow from the second fluid outlet. Also featured is a method of processing the microspheres using the hydrocyclone.

Method of making extended area filter

Methods are provided for making a porous filter that is useful in polymer melt spinning. The methods include pressing particles, such as a metal powder, to form a filter having a filter body integrally formed with a top cap and a bottom cap. The filter body and caps are formed as a single component or, alternatively, are formed as two or three separate parts that are fitted and pressed together to form a single component having blind inlet and outlet cavities. After pressing, the component is sintered to form the porous filter. The particles are pressed and cohere to form the caps and filter body without the use of a polymeric binder, and the inlet and outlet cavities are formed substantially without machining.

An air induction system for a vehicle engine includes a sensor assembly for monitoring particulate concentration. The sensor assembly is mounted within an air intake housing, which has an inlet and an outlet. An airflow passageway extends between the inlet and the outlet to the vehicle engine. The sensor assembly can be mounted to an intake manifold or incorporated into a mass airflow sensor.
