Disclosed herein is an improved eyelid care appliance and method of using such appliance for preventing and treating blepharitis and mammalian meibomian gland dysfunction caused by gland obstruction. The method and apparatus of the invention enable restoration and maintenance of eyelid hygiene and the natural flow of secretions from the meibomian glands. A preferred embodiment of the apparatus comprises an oscillating spongehead affixed to the distal end of the eyelid care appliance that is equipped with a video camera, near field communications link, and a display, thereby enabling a user to “fly” the spongehead onto an eyelid margin for self-administered cleaning of the user's eyelid margins. The spongehead can be impregnated with topical pharmacologic or cleansing agents to better facilitate cleaning and therapeutic efficacy.

Projectile targeting analysis

An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to determining aimpoint relative to a target located within a firing range. The target can be either fixed or moving, and if the target is moving then it can be mounted on tracks or controlled by servomechanisms. In addition to aimpoint, predicted projectile effects and personnel performance can be calculated for evaluation and for training. The firing range is mapped so that placement of infrared emitters is associated with specific targets. Placement of the emitter external to the target perimeter produces accurate results so long as the emitter is within the field of view of a camera mounted upon the projectile launcher. The invention results in large firing ranges with the ability to place targets wherever desired without decreasing aimpoint measurement accuracy.

An energy storage system, a control valve system, a hydraulic cylinder and buffering system and a pipeline system are adopted in the method. The energy storage system comprises an initial parameter calculating module, an energy accumulator building module and a charging device submodule. The control valve system comprises an electromagnetic pilot operated valve, an amplifying valve and a main valve submodule. The hydraulic cylinder and buffering system comprises a differential type hydraulic cylinder and a cylinder buffering parameterized model submodule. A pipeline subsystem comprises an on-way pressure loss model and a local pressure loss model submodule. By means of theoretical modeling and parameter determining, the four systems are introduced into a simulation model building and calculating system, and the calculation result is output through a result output system. The simulation platform system and method can carry out computer analog simulation and accurate evaluation on the comprehensive characteristics of the hydraulic operating mechanism for the ultra-high-voltage circuit breaker, the product design period is shortened, the test cost is reduced, and the blindness of a test is avoided.
