Locking system, especially for motor vehicles

The invention relates to an electronic lock for a locking system, in particular an electronic ignition lock for a motor vehicle. The lock has a holder into which an associated electronic key can be introduced. The key, which is in the holder, exchanges at least one coded operating signal with the lock. After positively evaluating the operating signal, the holder can be moved into at least one actuating position. The lock has a blocking element which adjusts on introduction of the key into the holder and / or removal of the key from the holder. Movement of the holder is possible when the key is correctly in the holder. Furthermore, the lock has a switching element on which the adjusting movement of the blocking element exerts a switching action via a separate transmitter which can be brought into operative connection both with the blocking element and with the switching element.

Turbulent flow reducer

A stream shaper for reducing turbulent flow has a plurality of circumferentially-spaced vanes, with alternate vanes being axially-spaced from the remaining vanes. This axial separation of vane groups reduces the flow restriction caused by the vanes at any given cross section along the length of the stream shaper as compared to a stream shaper having the same total number of vanes extending the full length of the stream shaper. Axially spacing alternate vanes from the remaining vanes also permits a significant reduction in the overall length of the stream shaper while providing the turbulence reducing effects of a much longer stream shaper with vanes that extend uninterrupted the full length of the stream shaper.

Actuating device for doors or hatches of vehicles

In an actuating device, the turret is installed in a carrier and removed from it by a setting movement. The setting movement comprises a plug-in phase and a shift phase during the installation procedure. Thus a shoulder on the turret arrives behind an opposing shoulder on the carrier. A locking screw secures the installed turret on the carrier. A rocker arm is supported pivotably on the carrier, which rocker arm has a control curve and a thrust surface and which can be pivoted between a starting position and an end position. In addition, the carrier is provided with a slide, which can also be shifted between a release position and locking position. Upon moving into the locking position, blocking surfaces on the slide arrive behind the opposing blocking surface on the turret. During the installation of the turret, the turret pushes against the thrust surface of the rocker arm and pivots the rocker arm toward its end position. During the removal of the turret, the thrust surface of the rocker arm ensures that the turret is pushed back in the carrier until the shoulder and the opposing shoulder release each other.

Procedure for Time-Limited Storage of Data on Storage Media

There is described a procedure for temporally limiting the storage of data on storage media, in which the data are provided with an expiry date when being stored on a storage medium. When access is made to these data by a read / write device, the expiry date is compared with a current date. When the expiry date is reached or exceeded, a pre-specified action is initiated—for example the deletion of the data from the storage medium or access being made to the data only by authorization. Based upon the procedure it is possible, on the one hand, to easily render sensitive information such as personal data unusable upon expiration of a storage period, if for example the expiry date is set to coincide with the date when the storage period elapses. On the other hand, copyright and marketing rights for digital data can thereby be easily protected without the additional use of licensing servers of the installation of executable programs.

Particle-Beam Induced Processing Using Liquid Reactants

A system or method of charge particle beam induced materials processing is disclosed. A charged particle beam (electron or ion) is focused at the interface of a substrate and a bulk liquid. The beam induces a localized chemical reaction that results in deposition or etching of deterministic micro- or nano-scale structures. The bulk liquid reactants permit the deposition and etching of metals, semiconductors, and insulators. A charged particle transparent membrane separates the liquid reactant from the vacuum chamber in which the beam is transmitted. In many cases, bulk liquid reactants permit processing of materials with much higher purity that of the prior art and permit processing of materials previously unavailable in charged particle beam processes.

Audio signal editing apparatus and control method therefor

Interlocking flag, indicating whether or not an interlocked display should be made, can be set in association with predetermined editing operators. When any of the operators is operated, a displayed screen on a display is switched over to a screen related to the operated operator, if the interlocking flag associated with the operated operator indicates flag-ON; if not, the display device may be used to perform another function. A plurality n of channels may be divided into a plurality of layers each consisting of predetermined number m channels. It is only necessary that a limited number of operators, e.g. faders, be provided to correspond to a single layer, i.e. m channels. Any of the layers is selected, and any of the operators is used for the selected layer. A set of stereo channels can be set across different layers so as to interlock with each other in response to editing operation of the operator.

Method and arrangement for handling information packets via user selectable relay nodes

The invention is related to a method in a communication network for handling traffic, such as data packets, from source nodes to destination nodes, via user selectable relay nodes. The relay nodes form an overlay network of nodes operated and managed by an overlay network operator. Communication between relay nodes relies on using packet forwarding services of intermediate networks being operated and managed independently by other operators. For any source / destination pair the overlay network operator may select an appropriate sequence of relay nodes to be passed depending on the required quality of service and the performance of different intermediate networks. The invention enables the control of the spreading of traffic between any two end-points over several alternative relay routes.
