Audio spatial localization is accomplished by utilizing input parameters representing the physical and geometrical aspects of a sound source to modify a monophonic representation of the sound or voice and generate a stereo signal which simulates the acoustical effect of the localized sound. The input parameters include location and velocity, and may also include directivity, reverberation, and other aspects. The input parameters are used to generate control parameters which control voice processing. Thus, each voice is Doppler shifted, separated into left and right channels, equalized, and one channel is delayed, according to the control parameters. In addition, the left and right channels may be separated into front and back channels, which are separately processed to simulate front and back location and motion. The stereo signals may be fed into headphones, or may be fed into a crosstalk cancellation device for use with loudspeakers.

Mechanically loaded direct air circulation commodity disinfestation chamber

A disinfestation treatment chamber for treating fruit, flower and vegetable commodities subject to infestation by quarantine pests. The commodities are disinfested so as to meet quarantine restrictions without adversely affecting the quality of the commodity. The commodity is heated inside of the chamber in hot air having a relative humidity of 30-85% until the temperature of the commodity exceeds the thermal death point temperature of the target pest but is not so high as to adversely affect the quality of the commodity. The temperature of the commodity is held at this temperature until the pest is killed. The commodity is loaded into the treatment chamber in bins onto a low friction conveyor track system which transports the bins from one end of the chamber to the other. The commodities are treated while they are inside of the treatment chamber. After treatment of the commodities, the bins are unloaded using the low friction conveyor track system out of the opposite end of the treatment chamber. The chamber includes a fan/heat exchanger located inside the treatment chamber and positioned under the commodity bins. The space directly above the fan/heat exchanger is left unobstructed during treatment to enhance the airflow through the commodity bins.

The invention comprises a wireless apparatus and system for automatic processing of digital “messages” to a remote system at a predefined destination address. Initial transmission occurs via a wireless network, and the apparatus process allows the simultaneous capture of new messages while transmissions are occurring. The destination address may correspond to an e-mail account, or may correspond to a remote server from which the message can be efficiently processed and / or further distributed. In the latter case, data packaged with the digital message is used to control processing of the message at the server, based on a combination of pre-defined system and user options. Secured Internet access to the server allows flexible user access to system parameters for configuration of message handling and distribution options, including the option to build named distribution lists that are downloaded to the wireless apparatus. For example, configuration data specified on the server may be downloaded to the wireless apparatus to allow users to quickly specify storage and distribution options for each message, such as archival for later retrieval, forwarding to recipients in a distribution list group, and / or immediate presentation to a monitoring station for analysis and follow-up. The apparatus and system is designed to provide quick and simple digital message capture and delivery for business and personal use.
