High efficiency universal input switching power supply

A universal input switching power supply has the rectifier, a signal detecting unit detecting a voltage of an external AC power and outputting a detecting signal, a PFC circuit converts a first DC power from the rectifier to a second DC power with different voltage according to the detecting signal; and a parallel and serial type DC to DC converter converting the second DC power with different voltage to a constant voltage of the third DC power. The parallel and serial type DC to DC converter has a transformer having a primary and secondary coils and physically changes a turn ratio of the primary and secondary coils of a transformer thereof according to a voltage ratio of the second DC power and the third DC power. Accordingly, the universal input switching power supply has good transforming efficiency at different AC power source conditions.

Power factor correction converter capable of fast adjusting load

A power factor correction converter capable of fast adjusting load functions to (a) convert a single-phase AC voltage into a DC voltage output; (b) control an input current and an input voltage for a correspondent electrical phase, namely the power factor that is 1; and (c) control a DC output voltage level. The converter is provided with a booster-based AC-DC converter as a core, in which the circuit includes a rectification circuit, a switching circuit consisting of a DC inductor and a power crystal, an energy-saving capacitor, a protection circuit, a microprocessor, and auxiliary circuits around. The power factor control, output voltage, and current control and filter modules function in the form of software program instead of conventional hardware circuits. Further, a powerful controller uses an output current feedback to enhance the DC output voltage to suppress the disturbance of load.

Integrated power conditioning system and housing for delivering operational power to a motor

A device for conditioning power delivered to operate a motor is disclosed. The device includes a sealed housing having at least one input terminal extending through the housing and configured to receive an input power and at least one output terminal extending through the housing and configured to deliver an output power conditioned to power a motor coupled to the output terminal. The device also includes a filter inductor arranged in the housing and that has an input configured to receive the input power from the input terminal. The filter inductor output terminal has a tap that is extended through the housing to allow coupling of various external filter components, such as resistors capacitors and inductors. Accordingly, the filter inductor is configured to suppress voltage changes in the input power and deliver a filtered power to an output of the filter inductor. A transformer is included that is arranged in the housing and has an input configured to receive the filtered power from the output of the filter inductor. As such, the transformer is at least configured to electrically isolate the input terminal from the output terminal and deliver a conditioned power from an output of the transformer to the output terminal to power the motor coupled to the output terminal.

Power factor correction rectifier having independent inductive components

A PFC circuit comprises a first converter and a second converter and a multi-port electromagnetic device. The first converter has a first inductive element and the second converter has a second inductive element. The multi-port electromagnetic device. comprises a first magnetic core having a first closed flux path and a second magnetic core having a second closed flux path, with the first closed flux path being independent of the second closed flux path. The first inductive element of the first boost circuit comprises a first winding that electromagnetically couples the first magnetic core to the second magnetic core and the second inductive element of the second boost circuit comprises a second winding that electromagnetically couples the first magnetic core to the second magnetic core independent of the electromagnetic coupling of the first winding such that current application in one windings does not induce a substantial voltage in the other.
