Small hydro is the development of hydroelectric power on a scale suitable for local community and industry, or to contribute to distributed generation in a regional electricity grid. The definition of a "small hydro" project varies based on different consideration of what should constitute bottom and top limits from country to country, but most common range, although not binding, in capacity of "small hydro" extend between 1 to 15 megawatts (MW), and can be further subdivide by scale into "mini" (<1MW), "micro" (<100kW), "pico" (<10kW). Load model of regional power grid with small hydroelectric generating set and modeling method

The invention relates to a load model of a regional power grid with a small hydroelectric generating set and a modeling method. Influences of low-voltage release of regional small hydro-electric power plants, distribution networks and induction motors are considered in the load model. By the practical modeling method, a component-based modeling approach and a measurement-based modeling approach are combined. The modeling method comprises the following steps of pre-sorting load nodes by using the component-based modeling approach; describing an equivalent motor by using typical parameters in a corresponding class; acquiring parameters of the equivalent motor by using a coherent equivalence method; reducing parameters to be identified in the load model; and identifying parameters of node measured data by using a genetic algorithm to obtain parameters of the model. Data are acquired by a fault recording device arranged in an electrical power system, node loads only require to be classified roughly, and the improved load model is close to actual conditions. The load model has the advantages that the investment is saved, the working amount is low, the precision of the model is high, and the load model can be directly used in BPA (business process analysis) software. Moreover, the load model can be used for frontline production practice.

In one implementation, the system and method are adapted to harness the kinetic energy in flowing water, preferably in waste water spilling over low-head dams or flowing from pump discharge at reservoir pumping stations, and using such energy in conjunction with differentials between head water and turbine location to improve turbine output. In certain implementations, the novel technology can be used to establish dispersed small-scale hydroelectric generation units at existing low-head dams. The invention discloses a dynamic equivalence method for medium and small hydropower clusters. The method comprises: obtaining the running measurement information of the target small and medium hydropower clusters; establishing a dynamic equivalence model for the target small and medium hydropower clusters; using the adaptive control parameter improved differential evolution algorithm to identify the parameters of the dynamic equivalence model; and substituting the model parameters into the dynamic equivalence model to complete the dynamic equivalence model of the target small and medium hydropower clusters. According to the invention, the method selects the equivalence model as the third-order generator parallel static ZIP load model, selects the active power, the reactive power, the voltage and the frequency of the small and medium-sized hydropower cluster transmission line phase measurement data as the input data, and adopts the adaptive control parameter improved differential evolution algorithm to identify the parameters of the dynamic equivalence model. With relatively high dynamic responding precision and the well-stable parameter identification algorithm, the method could be applied for the equivalence parameter identification and calculation of medium and small hydropower clusters and has good engineering application value.
