A measurement system and method for detecting and tracking the pose of an object displaceable in a coordinate reference frame. In the system and method a visible target pattern is provided on the object. The visible target pattern includes a series of contrast regions for providing at least two feature points. Each of these feature points is located at a juncture of an optically detectable plurality of edges. Each edge in the optically detectable plurality of edges separates different contrast regions. The method and system determine the location of the feature points by first locating the edges using the change in contrast between contrast regions, and then determining junctures of multiple edges. The method and system also involve a stereoscopic digital camera for generating a pair of digital images of the target pattern and a marker template comprising a set of reference characteristics including a relationship between the feature points.

Image segmentation method based on multi-supervision full-convolution neural network

The invention relates to an image segmentation method based on a multi-supervision full-convolution neural network. According to the invention, further improvement is carried out based on the full convolution neural network, so a novel network structure is provided. The network structure has three edge output layers with supervision which are capable of guiding a network to learn multi-scale features and allowing the network to acquire local features and global features of images. Meanwhile, in order to keep context information in the images, in the upper sampling parts of the network, upper sampling is performed on output feature images by sue of multiple feature channels. Finally, a fusion layer with the weight is used for fusing the classification results of the multiple edge output layers, so the final image segmentation result is obtained. The method is characterized by high segmentation precision and quick segmentation speed. In osteosarcoma CT data segmentation, the DSC coefficient of the acquired segmentation result by use of the provided algorithm reaches 86.88%, which is higher than that of a traditional FCN algorithm.

System and method for efficient routing on a network in the presence of multiple-edge restrictions and other constraints

Embodiments provide systems and methods that find the quickest route between two locations on a graph with multi-edge constraints in a time and space efficient manner. In some embodiments, Dijkstra's algorithm is split into separate universes when a) a multiple-edge constraint is reached, and b) along each edge of a multi-edge constraint. In some embodiments, the split is performed for the purpose of finding the quickest (i.e. lowest weighted) route to the intersect ion(s) at the end of the constraints. These universes, in some embodiments, are merged or discarded when the intersection at the end of the constraint is found. Using these systems and methods, in some embodiments, the shortest path between two locations of a multi-edge constrained road network can be efficiently determined.

Characterizing achievable flow rates in multi-hop mesh networks with orthogonal channels

A method of routing data from a source node to a destination node in a multi-hop network of nodes interconnected by links comprises: (a) determining that a link-flow vector satisfies one or more necessary scheduling conditions for achievability, wherein the link-flow vector represents a set of flows to be routed on one or more links from the source node to the destination node; (b) generating a scheduling multi-graph for the network, wherein the scheduling multi-graph comprises a graph having at least one pair of nodes with multiple edges therebetween; (c) deriving one or more sufficient scheduling conditions for achievability of the link-flow vector by edge-coloring the scheduling multi-graph; (d) solving a linear optimization problem over the one or more necessary scheduling conditions to obtain an upper bound on the achievability of the link-flow vector; (e) generating, based on the scheduling multi-graph, a solution comprising a set of routes and an associated schedule for achieving the link-flow vector, the solution being a lower bound on the achievability of the link-flow vector; and (f) implementing a routing method using the set of routes and the associated schedule to route the link-flow vector from the source node to the destination node. At least one node v of the network is adapted to receive transmissions from a specified plurality Ω(v) of other nodes, and at least one of the scheduling conditions depends on Ω(v).

An automatic razor blade sharpener simultaneously sharpens multiple edges of a spring-loaded disposable razor blade cartridge by gently contacting the blade edges with a moving rubber or polymeric compliant belt that is motor driven. The invention discloses a quasi-cyclic low density parity check code (LDPC) construction method and a device based on protographs. The protographs are expanded for two times in the construction method. A first expansion time L1 is smaller. A correcting progressive edge growth (PEG) algorithm is adopted to remove multiple edges of protographs. The girths of codes which are expanded are increased. A second expansion time is L2 and a cyclic shift offset is selected for connection which is established in the first expansion. Each connection corresponds to a unit cyclic matrix, wherein the size of the unit cyclic matrix is L2 * L2. The method references a local optimization idea of the PEG algorithm to construct a basis matrix of the quasi-cyclic LDPC code. The connection is established between each row of variable nodes and checking nodes and is confirmed in corresponding cyclic shift offset process. According to the correcting PEG algorithm, new rings formed in the basis matrix caused by the newly established connection are gone through. The fact that expansion factors A of the rings are larger than one is guaranteed. Thus, the rings with length of four are avoided. The number of short rings is reduced. The short rings which are small in connectivity emerge in a checking matrix are avoided by utilizing an ACE multiplication principle.
