A generally horseshoe shaped clear flexible resilient plastic wire-imbedded orthodontic appliance is made with a plastic portion with contours on the lingual side and on the labial side, wherein the contours snugly cover the patient's teeth so that the appliance remains in place. One or more flexible wires are imbedded within the lingual side of the plastic portion from the left molar area to the right molar area of the plastic portion, whereby the wires apply force on the lingual side of the patient's bite. The appliance is formed by obtaining a plaster cast of the patient's teeth and gums, removing plaster teeth from the plaster cast of the gums, reattaching the plaster teeth to the plaster cast of the gums to form a cast of proper bite alignment, attaching one or more wires to the labial surface of the aligned plaster teeth so the wires become imbedded within thermosetting plastic placed over the cast, putting the cast in a thermosetting plastic molding machine, inserting thermosetting plastic in the machine, and heating the thermosetting plastic around the cast of the proper bite alignment, so the wires are imbedded within the formed appliance after the thermosetting plastic cools. A series of appliances may be used to shift a patient's bite to proper bite orientation.

A surgical instrument support is provided having an elongated body portion and a series of slots located in the upper portion of the support adapted to receive a series of surgical instruments. The support may be made of hard plastic, resilient plastic or metal such as stainlees steel, aluminum or aluminum alloy. In one embodiment the slots are sized to receive the surgical instruments with an easily removable interference fit. In another embodiment elastomeric inserts are provided in the slots to provide a yieldable interference fit for instrument removal.

The invention relates to a pressure device for locking a mould. The pressure device comprises a pushing plate, wherein the pushing plate is arranged between a mould plate of a mould assembling mechanism and a corresponding mould; a clearance is reserved between the pushing plate and the mould plate; a pressure bag is arranged in the clearance; the pressure bag is made of elastic plastic material; and a metal connector, which is connected with a hydraulic device for filling a pressure medium into the pressure bag, is formed on a side wall of the pressure bag. Compared with the prior art, the pressure device for locking the mould provided by the invention can be used together with the mould assembling mechanism of related equipment, the defects of a hydraulic mould assembling mechanism, such as complex structure, high cost, low efficiency and high oil linkage probability, can be overcome. Meanwhile, the defects that a crank shaft type mould assembling mechanism is difficult to be controlled, can be easily abraded and has low precision and short service life are also overcome. In the pressure device for locking mould, the pushing plate and the pressure bag arranged between the mould plate and the mould of the mould assembling mechanism are used for replacing a traditional oil cylinder to realize a mould locking function of the mould assembling mechanism for an industrial machine, therefore the effects of high pressure rise speed and no need of lubrication can be achieved. Besides, the pressure device has the advantages of low manufacturing cost, convenience in use, low energy consumption and long service life.

This invention relates to a novel device for small, extremely flexible thin film plastic bags having short flat dispenser outlets, thereby making it possible to easily grasp and squeeze it open while shearing off a tack-welded sealed outlet, and when up-ended, can, for some easy-flow products, regulate its flow; all done using only one hand; said device may be inserted within, and bonded therein to the thin film chamber walls of plastic bags having conventional simple reclosable outlets; or incorporated during the original fabrication of the thin film plastic bag, particularly those having “Zip-Loc” or equal interlocking closure joints, with the usual alignment problems; said simple device consists of a pair of nested flexible and resilient plastic curved quadrant clamps with novel guide mouth attachments which makes it possible to squeeze the thin gauge film chamber walls manually for opening and for dispensing when up-ended, which upon release of the squeeze effort, automatically self closes to form a dust tight seal; said nested clamps may be tack-welded at its outlet for protection against pilfering of contents which, upon the initial squeeze-to-open operation by the customer shears for dispensing; novel improvements for making the curved clamps more than dust tight are offered, along with closure outlets that do not require scissor cutting or so-called easy tear sealed closures.

By adopting the method, the accuracy of the insertion adjustment quantity of a conical section of a work roller can be improved, the defect that the edge portion of strip steel is thinned is quickly and effectively controlled, the quality of finished cold-rolled silicon steel is improved, the rate of the average edge thinning value, smaller than or equal to 10[u]m, of silicon steel products can reach 100%, and the rate of the average edge thinning value which is smaller than or equal to 8 microns can reach 98.5%. According to the method, original control equipment can be used, maintenance is easy, and investment of technology import funds is reduced.

Deflector for tree-fruit harvester

A deflector (10) for collecting and guiding harvested tree-fruit is implemented for resilient recovery from collisions with obstacles in the field. The deflector is coupled in cantilever to a boom harvester (4) mounted on a vehicle (2). The harvester has a telescopic boom (8) with a mobile portion (14) terminated by a clamp (6) able to move in horizontal and in vertical translation towards and along a tree trunk (T). The deflector is coupled to the mobile portion for slaved translation with the clamp. Implemented as an array of separate ribs (32) flexibly coupled together and made of flexible elastic plastic material such as fiberglass, the deflector is lightweight and flexes upon collision to resiliently recover shape after the collision. Being lightweight, the cantilever does not destabilize the vehicle. The structure and the materials of construction of the deflector prevent transmission of vibrations generated by the vibrator (12) used to shake the trunk when harvesting.
