325 results about "Force vector" patented technology

Force As A Vector. Vectors are the physical quantities with both direction and magnitude. Force, as we know, has both direction and magnitude. Hence, we can represent force as a vector. Force vectors can be added or subtracted to discover the resultant force action on an object to change its state of uniform motion or its state of rest.

Health monitoring method for cable system in cable structure

The invention relates to a health monitoring method used for a cable system in a cable structure which carries out a plurality of mechanical calculations based on the mechanical calculation benchmark model of a structure; the calculation times are equal to the quantities of the cables. In each calculation, one cable is supposed to have unit damage; the result for each calculation forms vector for calculating a current cable force; a cable force change vector is obtained by using the vector for calculating the current cable force to subtract an initial cable force vector; all the cable force change vectors form a cable force change identity matrix. The noninferior solution of the current damage vector of the cable can be fast calculated by utilizing proper arithmetic such as multi-target optimizing arithmetic according to the approximating linear relation of the current cable force vector (formed by all the current cable forces that are actually detected), the cable force change identity matrix, a unit damage scalar and the current cable damage vector (formed by all the current damage quantities), thus being capable of more accurately confirming the position and the damage degree of the damaged cable.

Spiral-based axial flow devices

Axial flow devices using rigid spiral band profiled blade catenaries attached variably along and around an axially elongated profiled hub, of axially oriented profile section sequences 75 mapped relative to truncated cones-of-generation. Upon rotation and lubricity-masked progression through axial planes-of-shear, this time-domain sequence travels in 2-dimensional axial-datum-plane-relative path-excursions and ejects frictional adhesions via anguillar reverse vortex street thrust due to an after-body accelerating wave shape-sequence 48. This guides bound vortex pressures at linear path-velocity substantially parallel to the collective plane-of-shear, conferring higher differential pressures through path-vector-addition, improved force-vector orientation, extended laminar flows, lower form drag and tip vorticity. As a wind turbine, path-vectors are added to inflow, ducting an increased mass flow inward for increased power extraction per diameter. As a propeller, path-vector-subtraction guides the wave front flight-path-transverse, allowing higher flight velocities and improving thrust-per-torque through enhanced force vectors and mass flow rates.
