A multiple convective cushion seating and sleeping system for providing temperature modified air to multiple surfaces, such as a seating surface and a sleeping surface, with the same air cooling or heating source. The invention includes the use of tubular spacer material including tubular spacer fabric. A power unit including a heat pump and blower is in fluid communication with a first convective cushion by a first duct and with a second convective cushion by a second duct to provide the temperature modified air to both convective cushions for controllably heating or cooling multiple users. A thermoelectric heat pump, a Stirling cycle heat pump or other type of heat pump can be used. The invention includes the use or one or more valves to control the air flow to one or more of the convective cushions and provides for manual operation, electronic control and operation by a remote telecommunications unit. The invention can be utilized in vehicles, such as tractor trailers and recreational vehicles, and in buildings such as apartments, dorm rooms and houses.

The on-board-diagnosis method includes estimating an NO2 content upstream of the nitrogen-oxides reduction unit, measuring at least one of an NOx or NO2 content upstream of the nitrogen-oxides reduction unit, performing a comparison between the estimated and the measured contents, and, based on the result of the comparison deciding on at least one conditioning step of the diesel particulate filter unit.

The present invention provides a beverage maker having an in-line heating assembly for heating water to make hot beverages such as coffee and tea. The heating assembly defines a flow path that runs past a plurality of heaters for heating water to a desired temperature. In this manner, the beverage maker heats water as it travels, alleviating the need for a water tank or vessel, resulting in increased savings in weight and size, as well as reducing brew time. Additionally, an optical sensor assembly is provided to detect when a serving container of the beverage maker has a prescribed capacity of liquid within it. The sensor assembly includes at least one light source aligned to shine into the container and at least one detector aligned to detect light reflected off the liquid surface within the container. A drainage assembly is also provided that can drain liquid through either a connector port into an airplane's wastewater system or through a drainage port into a drainage sump.

An energy storage arrangement wherein electrical charge is stored in capacitor elements dispersed throughout, for example, surface structural components of an aircraft. The electrical capacitor elements may involve dielectric material-separated electrical plates comprising the aircraft skin or preferably may involve numerous wire-like cylindrical capacitor elements dispersed within the weaving of the hardened fabric materials used to fabricate the aircraft.
