An electric vehicle includes plurality of batteries accommodated in a rear portion of a battery box, and an electric part is accommodated in an electric part accommodating chamber provided in a front portion of the battery box. Cooling air supplied from a cooling fan to the rear portion of the battery box cools the batteries having a large thermal resistance, while being passed through a first cooling air passage around outer peripheries of the batteries at a low flow rate. A second cooling air passage having a smaller sectional area than that of the first cooling air passage is provided below the electric part accommodating chamber, and cooling fins protruding downwards from the electric part are exposed within the second cooling air passage. The second cooling air passage extends continuously the first cooling air passage in a downstream direction of airflow, so that cooling air which has first cooled the batteries then cools the electric part having a smaller thermal resistance, while being passed through the second cooling air passage at a higher flow rate than that in the first cooling air passage.

A rear seat is foldable by moving downward a seat cushion and folding forward a seat back. A power source unit is disposed below a rear floor to the rear of the rear seat. When the rear seat is in an unfolded state, cooling air can be introduced from inside a vehicle compartment, through a space between a lower surface of the seat cushion and an upper surface of an underseat floor, into a cooling-air introduction port in the power source unit. When the rear seat is in a folded state, the cooling air is introduced from inside the vehicle compartment, through cooling-air introduction passages, into the cooling-air introduction port. Thus, the power source unit can be cooled irrespective of whether the rear seat is in the folded state, without reducing the foldability of the rear seat.

A rear seat is foldable by moving downward a seat cushion and folding forward a seat back. A power source unit is disposed below a rear floor to the rear of the rear seat. The peel off between an ice making plate and an insulating layer or between the insulating layer and heating means is prevented so that an ice making operation can be performed efficiently. Also, a metal plate is insulated from the heating means reliably. An evaporation pipe 14 and electric heaters H1 to HN are provided in an ice making member 11. A coolant is circulatingly supplied through the evaporation pipe 14 so as to cool the ice making member 11 and ice making water is supplied to the ice making member 11 so as to form an ice block M during the ice making operation. During the deicing operation, heat is generated in the heaters H1 to HN by applying current so that the ice block M is removed from the ice making member 11 by melting. The ice making member 11, in a state that an insulating layer 12b lies between a metal plate 12a to which the evaporation pipe 14 is fixed and the heaters H1 to HN, is formed by bonding the metal plate 12a with the insulating layer 12b, and the insulating layer 12b with each of the heaters H1 to HN by thermocompression. Also, in addition to thermocompression bonding, the external outline of the heating means (H1 to HN) may be located inside the insulating layer 12b.

The cooling system provided by the invention is simple in structure, and has small influence on the overall structure of a unit; a refrigerant is prevented from being scaled and corroded in a pipeline of the cooling system; a refrigerant in the condenser is used for cooling the frequency converter, so that the influence of the external environment is small, and the cooling effect is stable and reliable; and the cooling of the frequency converter and the refrigerating function of the air conditioner are completed at the same time in one cooling system, so that normal running of the air conditioner is effectively ensured.

Thus, the flow rate of the coolant supplied to an area near outlets of the oxygen-containing gas flow field and the fuel gas flow field become smaller than the flow rate of the coolant supplied to the other area.
