Charged particle beam therapy system having an x-ray imaging device

Therapy system (100) for irradiating a target volume (2) of a patient (1) with a charged particle beam (6), including a beam generator (3), a beam transport system (4), and a nozzle (5) for distributing the beam to the target volume (2), the nozzle (5) being, when in operation, under vacuum. The therapy system comprises an X-ray device (10) which is rotatably mounted inside the nozzle (5) between a first position and a second position. In the first position, an X-Ray source (12) within the X-Ray device is able to emit X-Rays along a charged particle beam path for generating an X-Ray image on a corresponding X-Ray receiving device (11) arranged opposite to the patient (1), said X-Ray image serving to determine a correct position of the target volume (2) with regard to the charged particle beam (6). In the second position, the X-Ray device (10) is set outside of a charged particle beam treatment path envelope (23), so that the charged particle beam (6) can reach and irradiate the target volume (2).

Lighting fixture with smooth adjustable beam width

A lighting fixture having a main housing to which is attached a moveable reflector assembly. The fluorescent lamps are affixed to the main housing and the moveable reflector assembly is adjusted to a position close to the fluorescent lamps to achieve a narrow illumination field. Adjusting the position of the moveable reflector assembly away from the fluorescent lamps achieves a wide illumination field. The reflector is designed as a near parabolic like shape and may be configured as a single fluorescent lamp cavity, or a multiple lamp cavity wherein the parabolic like shapes for each fluorescent lamp intersect to provide a uniform illumination light field and highly efficient light output while minimizing the lighting fixture width.

Exercise cord wall mount

A wall mount for use with exercise cords is secured to a wall and provides spring clips at multiple elevations for the attachment of the exercise cord. Each spring clip has a central curved portion that extends through a slot formed in the wall mount to provide an attachment point to which the exercise cords can be clipped with a caribiner. The wall mount is secured to the wall with a material-specific anchor. The cords may be quickly and easily attached and reattached to the spring clips at plural elevations for a large number of resistive exercise options.

Tone generation controlling system

A tone generating system 100 has a motion detection terminal 11 and a tone producing device. The Motion detection terminal 11 has a motion sensor MS which is attached to the back of a hand, and transmitting unit 11a. The Motion sensor MS detects a torsional motion of the hand to which it is attached. The Transmitting unit 11a transmits motion information on the torsional motion. A Tone producing device 10 receives the motion information, generates control information based on the motion information, and produces a tone on the basis of the control information.

Iii-nitride light emitting device

A device includes a substrate (10) and a III-nitride structure (15) grown on the substrate, the III-nitride structure comprising a light emitting layer (16) disposed between an n-type region (14) and a p-type region (18). The substrate is a RAO3 (MO)n where R is one of a trivalent cation: Sc, In, Y and a lanthanide; A is one of a trivalent cation: Fe (III), Ga and Al; M is one for a divalent cation: Mg, Mn, Fe (II), Co, Cu, Zn and Cd; and n is an integer ≧1. The substrate has an inplane lattice constant asubstrate. At lease one III-nitride layer in the III-nitride structure has a bulk lattice constant alayer such that [(|asubstrate−alayer|) / asubstrate]*100% is no more than 1%.
