A method for measuring the infiltration of coring fluid into a core sample taken from a formation comprises a) providing a coring fluid containing cesium in a first concentration, b) using the coring fluid and a coring means to generate the core sample, c) determining the concentration of cesium present in the core sample; and d) comparing the core sample cesium concentration to the first concentration. A further preferred step comprises using the comparison in step d) to calculate the degree of infiltration of the coring fluid into the core sample.

A method is disclosed for the formation of metal chelates which are able to remain stable in high alkaline environments when compared to metal chelates produced from a reaction with amino acids. The method involves the reaction of sugars, amino groups, and metal components for a sufficient period of time and temperature in a water solution. A multi-layer armor comprises: an outer composite spaced from an inner composite. The outer composite comprises (a.) a high strength strike surface layer, (b.) a high strain rate sensitivity-hardening polymer and (c.) a second high strength layer. An animal bedding composition and method of manufacture includes cut or shredded pieces of multiple panel corrugated cardboard kraft paper structures having an internal corrugated panel sandwiched between outer panels, and an adsorptive deodorizing ion exchange agent such as a zeolite dispersed throughout the cardboard pieces and carried on outer and inner surfaces of the pieces of cardboard and on outer and inner surfaces of the corrugations to provide a comfortable, hygienic and deodorized floor covering for animal stalls. An automated method of manufacturing the animal bedding composition is also described. The ion exchange agent attaches to surfaces of the corrugated cardboard which serves as a carrier to sanitize and deodorize a stall. The open structure of the cut corrugations provides mechanical load absorption, and a wicking action to aerate moisture from a stall. The ion exchange agent carried by the corrugated pieces removes ammonia odor from urine and provides slow release potassium and, when loaded with ammonium, slow release of nitrogen for agricultural fertilization. Carbon in the kraft paper from which the corrugated cardboard is constructed attracts nitrogen from urine, yielding excellent fertilizing material with rapid biodegradation.

A composite package having a folded paperboard card and two plastic components shaped to interfit with one another when the package is closed. The plastic components define a space for containing one or more articles. The folded paperboard card may be a dual-panel card with two panels joined to one another along a fold line or other hinge. Each paperboard panel may define an opening to seat a plastic component. The paperboard is configured to bring the two plastic components into registration when the panels are folded together along the hinge. The plastic components may be configured to releasably interlock when the package is closed. One of the two plastic components may include a shoulder that is configured to be snap-fitted or otherwise frictionally into the other plastic component. The opening may include a seat shaped to closely receive and provide a stop for the shoulder.
