Enhanced online advertising system

ActiveUS20060212350A1Increase bid priceImprove qualityAdvertisementsWeb pageGraphics
The system provides an automatically targeted network for text and graphical advertising based on cost-per-action bidded pricing, wherein actions comprise any of acquisitions, purchases, downloads, registrations, donations, clicks, and impressions. Contextual, search and behavioral relevance features are integrated to optimize ad selection for advertisers, who enter action objectives, associated bids, and creatives or catalog assets. The assets are automatically analyzed and stored, and ads are automatically constructed for catalog assets. When an ad request is received from a user terminal in regard to a publisher asset, e.g. a web page, the ad request is matched to a stored contextual analysis of at least a portion the publisher asset if available, and preferably to a profile associated with the user of the user terminal. The best advertisements are determined, based upon a predicted response, and are then served, i.e. displayed, at the user terminal, based upon available ad space.

System and method for tagging content in a digital media display

A software system and method that allows website readers to create and store comments pertaining to website content, with tags identifying the comment, so that the comments may be easily retrieved at a later time. An administrator accesses a website to enter data (e.g. HTML code) for creating reader comment and tag. When the webpage containing the code is posted to a website, the code results in a reader comment and tag display page where website visitors can comment on the content of the website, and create one or more tags that identify their comment. Comments and tags are then saved at a local or remote website database accessible to the reader. A reader can find their comments that they posted on various websites stored within their database record by searching the database for comments with a particular tag. They can also assign new tags to their stored comments.

Event detection algorithms

A method for analysing incoming data, comprising the steps of processing the incoming data in segments to output a sequence of segment types by extracting one or more properties of an incoming data segment and forming an Unknown Property Vector for each segment of data in the incoming data, and processing the sequence of segment types to identify events in the incoming data. The sequence of segment types is determined, for each segment, by reference to a set of Reference Property Vectors that are relevant to the Unknown Property Vector. This may involve application of first and / or second and / or further functions to identify at least a first subset of Reference Property Vectors that are relevant to the Unknown Property Vector. Alternatively, a logistic regression algorithm, derived using clustering or classification methods for identifying candidate vectors, may be used.

Academic community system based on massive knowledge network

The invention provides an academic community system based on a massive knowledge network, comprising an information collection and storage module, which is used for collecting information provided by a network and users to form a knowledge network; an academic retrieval module, which is used for retrieving conferences, literatures, authors and field summaries in the knowledge network; an academic service module, which is used for serving individual demands of the users with the knowledge network; and a community module, which is used for information interactions among the users, as well as between the users and the knowledge network. By fully utilizing network resources, according to the academic community system provided by the invention, the knowledge network is formed to provide more retrieval and service functions and interaction interfaces between the users and a knowledge base, so that the scientific research demands of academic workers are met.

Proximal relevancy ranking in a layered linked node database

A system and method for determining node relevancy by proximal weighting and pruning in a layered linked node database, such as that used to represent connections between a set of objects. The weights of connections between nodes in the layered linked node database is used as a distance metric, with propagation semantics determining how the summed relevancy is determined. This is particularly useful for determining, for a given node in a given layer, which nodes in another layer, or on the same layer, are most relevant. In the context of mobile device users, this is particularly useful for dynamically determining which people, places, events etc. are of greatest relevance in a scalable manner.

Game providing system and game server

The present invention provides a game providing system which can expect that a registered player prolongs or extends his or her contract period and can enhance an access ratio of the registered player to a game site. A game providing system includes a portable terminal (10) and a game server which are connected to each other via the Internet and allowing the game server to give points which are exchangeable with a predetermined commodity or service to a member who gains access to the game server from the portable terminal (10) and plays a game on a game site, wherein the game server has means which changes the points in accordance with attributes of the member.

Method of website ranking promotion using creation of mass blog posting links

The present invention is directed to a method of promoting the high ranking of a website that is more certain to succeed and less susceptible to current and future advances in search engine filtering techniques. This method includes not only creating a large number of Major Specialty Areas each of which categorizes a general business area or activity to which a Blog is directed, but also further establishing a very large number of Sub-Specialty Areas within each Major Specialty Area so to more specifically categorize a business area or activity to which a Blog is directed. The method further includes determining the number of Blog Postings which need to be linked to a website to achieve a high ranking of the website by a search engine. For this purpose, the nature of the website is categorized, by the Blog Posting purchaser, into at least one Major Specialty Area and at least one Sub-Specialty Area within the Major Specialty Area. Next, Blog Distributor provides a requisite number of Blog Postings directed to the Major Specialty Area and Sub-Specialty Area needed to be linked to the website in order to achieve the high ranking. In this latter regard, the method includes determining how many Blogs are available from external Bloggers to provide the requisite number of Blog Postings. If the number of externally written Blogs is insufficient, then a number of Internal Blogs are created, this number of Blogs being sufficient to supply the remaining number of Blog Postings required. The result is that the requisite number and type of Blog Postings needed to be linked to the website in order to achieve the high ranking are provided, and this is done in a timely and cost efficient manner.
