user device and a network node. The
user device (10) comprises a
transceiver (11) configured to broadcast an access
signal SA when not being connected to any radio communication networks, wherein the access
signal SA comprises identity information of the
user device (10), receive an access response
signal SR from a radio communication network in response to
broadcasting the access signal SA, wherein the access response signal SR comprises an indication of at least one assigned
frequency spectrum segment for communication in the
wireless communication
system (30), communicate with at least one network node (20a, 20b,..., 20n) of the radio communication network using the at least one assigned
frequency spectrum segment. The network node (20) comprises a
transceiver (21) and a processor (22); wherein the
transceiver (21) is configured to receive a broadcasted access signal SA from a user device (10), wherein the broadcasted access signal SA comprises identity information of the user device (10); wherein the processor (22) is configured to assign at least one
frequency spectrum segment for communication for the user device (10) based on the broadcasted access signal SA and wherein the transceiver (21) is further configured to transmit an access response signal SR to the user device (10), wherein the access response signal SR comprises an indication of the at least one assigned frequency spectrum segment for communication in the
wireless communication
system (30), that is assigned according to a performance indicator associated to the frequency spectrum segment. The network node may collaborate with other network nodes that provide a further performance indicators associated to a further frequency spectrum segments, so as to select the most appropriate serving network node and frequency spectrum node, so as to maximize overall
network performance in terms of
throughput and spectrum efficiency and
energy consumption.
