Compact disk locking device

A locking device for releasable securing a compact disc to a disc seat provided in a compact disc case. The device has a flat base, a raised circular shoulder located on the base, and a raised button located on the top of the circular shoulder. The device inserts between the bottom of the case and the disc seat so that the base rests against the bottom of the case, the circular shoulder of the device removable inserts into the middle of the central retaining ring, and the button extends upward through the center opening of the central retaining ring. Although a compact disc can be inserted onto the disc seat without the user manually depressing the button, a compact disc can only be removed for the retaining disk seat by first depressing the button. Depressing the button presses the base against the bottom of the case, which flexes downward sufficiently to allow the shoulder of the device to move downward out of the middle of the central retaining ring, thereby unlocking the flexible teeth that comprise the central retaining ring so that a compact disc can be slipped over them.

According to the invention, nanometer hybridization effects of a high polymer nano-material in the nanofiltration membrane are made full use of, so hydrophilic performance, antioxidation performance and anti-pollution performance of the nanofiltration membrane are improved, and the nanofiltration membrane has the advantages of low pollution, great flux and a high removal rate. The preparation method is scientific and reasonable, enables the nanometer composite nanofiltration membrane with a specific nanoparticle and polyamide hybridized desalination layer to be prepared and has higher ion selectivity, low pollution capability and temperature stability.

Medical device lock mechanism

A medical device (10) includes an implant body (20) with a number of segments (30) hingedly interconnected so as to assume a straightened state for delivery and a flexed or roughly curved deployed state. Implant body may have engagement elements on at least two different segments, for example on a majority of segments. An elongated locking element anchored at the distal segment of the implant body may have projections for at least each engagement element. Tension applied to the locking element biases the implant body from the straightened state to the flexed deployed state. When the locking element is deflected to reach the curved deployed state, flexing segments of the implant body lock by matching engagement elements of the implant body with projections of the locking element. A very secure lock may be formed to prevent opening after deployment.

To improve the consumer experience with portable electronic devices, a user interface combines the use of capacitive sensors with tactile sensors in an input device. When a user places a finger, stylus, or other input instrument near a given key button, a capacitive sensor causes the display to display temporarily an indication of the function of that key in an enlarged format. The user may then press the associated key button to activate the desired function. In one exemplary embodiment, the capacitive sensor fixes the functionality to the function indicated in the display. In this embodiment, a tactile input applied to any key, whether the correct key, multiple keys, or a single incorrect key, results in activating the function indicated in the display as a result of the capacitive input.

Implementations of the present invention provide systems, methods, and components configured to preserve valid shadow copies during replication cycles, before those valid shadow copies have expired. In particular, one or more components can identify the size and rate of changes in production server data that will be applied to a new volume shadow copy. The components can then determine the storage area that would be needed to store the new volume shadow copy in the backup volume and apply changes onto the backup volume if there is appropriate space. If there is not an appropriate amount of space, the components can alert the system that new action should be taken to preserve both prior, valid shadow copies as well as new shadow copies. For example, a backup administrator may need to increase the shadow copy storage space, or assign a new storage medium for handling new shadow copies.

The head 12 is movable between a rest position, in which the head 12 is angularly displaced from the handle 16, and a biased position in which the head 12, handle 16, and wiping blade 14 are in linear relation. In the biased position, the wiping blade is maintained at an optimum angle for cleaning a glass surface even with the handle 16 held generally perpendicular to the glass. A spring 60 is fully contained in the head 12 and biases the head toward the rest position. A tension adjustment knob 80 in the head 12 permits adjustment of the spring 60 to a tension level according to the ergonomic requirements of a user.

Successive bridging / spacing members may be inserted through further studs and overlapped with the preceding bridging / spacing member, and engaging a common stud, to position and hold the studs at the prescribed spacing. The stud bridging / spacing member not only spaces the studs, but reinforces the studs against deflection and rotation caused by transverse, axial and lateral loading.
