Communication system architecture and operating protocol therefor

A connection broker (44), located between lower-level system entities (16, 58, 264) associated with a narrowband-broadband interface (250) and a call server (18) that controls call connection across the narrowband-broadband network, contains a memory (251) that stores connection-related information and protocol converters. The connection broker (44) accesses the protocol converters to interpret control messages received from the call server (18) and, where necessary, transposes messages for the call server into a standardised format for use over a uniform fabric application interface (66). Control messages pertaining to connection paths within the narrowband-broadband network (250) and relayed via the connection broker (44) are appropriately phrased (by the connection-related information and protocol converters) to ensure that meaningful information and instruction is communicated between the call server (18) and the lower-level system entities (16, 58, 264). Use of the protocol converters therefore enables connection attributes and network operation and configuration to be altered and advised in-call by having the connection broker (44) both change connection-related information and communicate any change in network configuration to the call server and lower-level system entities, as appropriate.

Space frames and connection node arrangement for them

ActiveUS20070011983A1Easy to useEfficiently carry design loadSolar heating energySolar heat devicesEngineeringSpace frame
A node connector in a double layer grid-type of space frame preferably is an extrusion which includes an open-ended tubular portion for snugly at least substantially encircling a frame chord member of desired cross-sectional configuration which is disposable in the passage. The node connector has fixed external elements which extend along the connector parallel to the passage. Those elements define facing parallel flat surfaces arranged in at least two pairs of such surfaces. The surfaces of each pair lie equidistantly from a center plane between them. Each center plane is parallel to the passage axis and preferably includes the passage axis. Each pair of facing flat surfaces of the node connector can cooperate closely with opposite flat surfaces at the end of each of other frames framing member placed between the facing surfaces. The node connector can be secured to a chord member in its passage and to ends of other framing members by shear pins which have zero clearances in node connector holes and in holes or passages through the respective framing members. The space frame can be a movable armature for a curved solar reflector, the space frame having a V-shaped major surface. At least some of the framing members can be thin wall tubes modified to have opposing, flat-exterior wall zones along the length of each tube and in which the wall thickness is locally increased and through which shear pin holes are defined.

Coordinated shared storage architecture

ActiveUS20060206671A1Amortization of costImprove numberError detection/correctionUnauthorized memory use protectionSpare partConcentrator
The present invention provides a novel coordinated shared storage architecture that permits the amortization of cost of the spares over any number of the storage systems and enables improvements to a number of storage system operations. The coordinated shared storage architecture comprises a plurality of storage systems disk shelves via a plurality of intermediate network devices, such as hubs. Each storage system includes a storage operating system having a target device driver module. The target device driver module permits the storage system to function as a SCSI target and thereby receive and process commands directed to it from other storage systems.

Connection-member for electrical connection of battery cells

Disclosed herein are a connection member for electrically interconnecting a plurality of battery cells in a battery pack in which the battery cells are mounted, wherein the connection member includes at least two terminal contact parts, which are connected to electrode terminals of neighboring battery cells, and a connection part for interconnecting the terminal contact parts, and wherein the terminal contact parts are lower in height, by a size corresponding to the thickness of a pack case, than the connection part such that the connection member connects the electrode terminals of the battery cells while the connection member is mounted on the outer surface of the pack case, and a battery pack including the same. Consequently, the connection member according to the present invention has the effect of effectively interconnecting the electrode terminals of the battery cells through a simple assembly process. Also, the connection member according to the present invention can be directly mounted on the pack case without using an additional auxiliary member.

Substrate structures for integrated series connected photovoltaic arrays and process of manufacture of such arrays

This invention comprises manufacture of photovoltaic cells by deposition of thin film photovoltaic junctions on metal foil substrates. The photovoltaic junctions may be heat treated if appropriate following deposition in a continuous fashion without deterioration of the metal support structure. In a separate operation, an interconnection substrate structure is provided, optionally in a continuous fashion. Multiple photovoltaic cells are then laminated to the interconnection substrate structure and conductive joining methods are employed to complete the array. In this way the interconnection substrate structure can be uniquely formulated from polymer-based materials employing optimal processing unique to polymeric materials. Furthermore, the photovoltaic junction and its metal foil support can be produced in bulk without the need to use the expensive and intricate material removal operations currently taught in the art to achieve series interconnections.

Electronic invoice system based on blockchain and realization method

The invention provides an electronic invoice system based on a blockchain and a realization method. The method includes steps: (S1), application registration: a tax bureau terminal generates a privatekey on a blockchain system according to a requirement of a taxpayer and generates a public key and an address through the generated private key; (S2), return of the private key: the taxpayer can inquire his own invoice according to the address generated by the tax bureau terminal and perform identity authentication or decryption through the public key and the private key; (S3), invoice purchase:the tax bureau terminal writes an invoice balance of the taxpayer into the blockchain system and returns the invoice balance to a taxpayer terminal; (S4), invoice issuing: the taxpayer terminal inputsinvoice data, encrypts the input data and then uploads the encrypted data to the blockchain system; and (S5), invoice inquiry: invoice information is inquired according to the address and the privatekey of the taxpayer terminal. The system and the method are advantageous in that the degree of mutual trust is high, data cannot be tampered, the data traceability is realized, interconnection and intercommunication are achieved, and distributed storage and decentralization can be realized.
