Log rocker

A log rocker has a long lever arm with a back cylinder fulcrum at its bottom end. Also attached to the bottom end of the lever arm is a semi-circular, curved, pair of prongs and an upper, semi-circular shaped, pivoting surround arm. The surround arm has a spike at its outer end. The lever arm also has a handle at the top and a foot brace about one-third from the ground. To use the device the logger forces the pair of prongs underneath a log and then locks the log onto the rocker by rotating the upper, surround, pivot arm and driving the spike into the log to secure the device around the log. The lever can then be rotated to allow the logger to raise the log up off the ground and onto the cylindrical fulcrum for cutting.

Assistance in picking system

The present assistance in picking system assists in a putting-in operation to put an article, about which instructions have been issued, in storage sections on storage racks and a picking operation to pick articles, about which instructions have been issued, from the storage section. The system assigns positions of storage sections on the storage racks, stores assigned positional information of the storage sections, and stores article information of the articles to be stored in the storage sections in a storage device. The system outputs to a putting-in display response device information of articles that have been put in, information which is read from the storage device, and outputs to a picking display response device information of articles that have been picked, including articles that have yet to be picked, as well as the numbers thereof, thereby performing picking control. A display which displays for an operator work of the putting of articles into the storage sections is provided to the putting-in display response device and a display which displays work of picking articles from the storage sections for the operator and a completion switch which inputs completions in picking are provided on the picking display response device. A picking control computer controls assistance in both operations to put articles in and an operation to pick articles from the storage sections of the storage racks, on the basis of a single piece of positional information and article information for each of the storage sections that is stored in the storage device.

Bucket Glides

A ski shaped glide of hardened steel, two or more of which can be attached to the bottom of a bucket on a front-end loader when the bucket is used for plowing snow with the lift hydraulics in float position. The glide specifically referred to as a bucket-glide, significantly and effectively prevent the bucket cutting edge from digging into the road or ground surface when plowing, especially when the ground surface is soft or uneven. To accomplish this objective the bucket-glides are attached to the underside the bucket bottom typically with one in the middle and one near each outside edge with the glide's toes extending upward just beyond the bucket's cutting edge. The acute angle bend of the toes allow the bucket to be tilted downward to enable the bucket cutting edge to effectively engage the snow and enable the bucket to glide over and follow the terrain without having the cutting edge dig in and remove unwanted material. The invention allows the operator to adjust the bucket tilt angle to accommodate for most ground conditions. When plowing snow on soft, unfrozen ground a slight bucket tilt angle allows more of the bucket-glide's surface area to make ground contact and therefore provides more bucket support, preventing the cutting edge from digging in. As the operator increases the bucket tilt angle it progressively reduces the bucket-glide's surface area contact with the ground and support of the bucket resulting in more of the bucket's weight being transferred to the bucket's cutting edge. This reduced bucket support is useful because it allows the cutting edge to aggressively scrape hard surfaces like pavement or frozen ground while still maintaining ground clearance. Bucket glides are attached with a bolt or clamp.

Plastic cap and method of making the same

A plastic cap comprises an oxygen-tight liner to be joined to an opening end surface of a spout on a container. The cap has a circumferential skirt with an internal annular bead adapted for snap connection with a corresponding annular groove in the spout. The liner has on the side facing the cap a first plastic layer, which is arranged to be permanently joined, when injection-moulding the cap, to the plastic material of the cap, and on the side facing the container a second plastic layer, which is arranged to be temporarily hermetically sealed to the opening end surface. On the end facing the container, the skirt has a radial projection which serves as a thumb grip and which when opening the container allows the cap to be bent away from the opening end surface so that the temporary, hermetic seal between the second plastic layer of the liner and the opening end surface of the spout is gradually broken. A method of making the cap comprises primarily the steps of applying the liner, prior to the injection-moulding of the cap, to a mould wall in a cavity of a mould and, while retaining the liner in position, injecting plastic into the mould through the mould wall.
