Substituted pentacene compounds comprise at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of electron-donating substituents, halogen substituents, and combinations thereof; the substituent(s) each being bonded to a carbon atom of a terminal ring of pentacene, and being the only substituent(s); with the proviso that when the compound has only two substituents, both of which are methyl or alkoxy, and one substituent is bonded to the number 2 carbon atom, the other substituent, if methyl, is bonded to the number 1, 3, 4, 8, or 11 carbon atom and, if alkoxy, is bonded to the number 1, 3, 4, 8, 9, or 11 carbon atom; and with the further proviso that when the compound has only four substituents, all of which are alkoxy, the substituents are bonded to the numbers 2, 3, 9, and 10 carbon atoms.

ADS-Bsec: a holistic framework to secure ADS-B

Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) is one of the most prominent air traffic surveillance technologies. It can be used not only as a complement in existing radar-based technologies to locate aircraft, but also as a replacement in areas without radar coverage. However, a major flaw in the deployment of this technology is it reliance on clear-text, open broadcast of messages, which makes it vulnerable to attackers. A solution to this vulnerability is ADS-Bsec, a holistic framework that solves the root cause of ADS-B problems by enforcing authenticity and integrity in ADS-B messages. This is accomplished without changing the message format and, along with a proper key exchange mechanism. The framework also leverages results from radio-location add risk-adaptive techniques in order to prevent attacks targeting ADS-B. ADS-Bsec is a promising framework for integrating ADS-B to NextGen infrastructure in a secure and affordable fashion.

Five-membered cyclic anion use thereof as an electrolyte

A pentacyclic anion salt is provided for use thereof in electrolyte compositions. The compound has an inorganic, organic or organometallic cation M of valency m (1≦m≦3) and m anions corresponding to the formula (I) in which Rf is a —CFZ′Z″ group in which Z′ is F or a perflouroalkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and Z″ is an H, F or Cl group, an optionally fluorinated or perfluorinated alkoxy group having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, an optionally fluorinated or perfluorinated oxaalkoxy group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or an optionally fluorinated or perfluorinated alkyl group having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms; Z″ being other than F when Z′ is F. An electrolyte composition comprises said salt in solution in a liquid solvent or a polymer solvent.

Method of decoding a sequence of encoded digital images

The disclosure provides a method of decoding a sequence of encoded digital frames encoded by an encoder using a format applying block-based prediction. For the decoding of an encoded digital frame which comprises a missing area, the method includes obtaining additional data associated with at least one block of the encoded digital frame. Using the obtained additional data, for at least one block of the missing area, information identifying one type of predictor in a predetermined list of types of predictor is obtained. A reconstruction method for the at least one block of the missing area is selected using the information identifying one type of predictor.
