The invention relates to an intelligent test line and method for a distribution transformer. The test line comprises a conveying line, wherein the conveying line is provided with a loading slow-transfer zone, a test zone, a discharging slow-transfer zone and a unloading zone; the test zone is provided with a pick-and-place platform and a pick-and-place mechanical arm; an automatic knob device anda wiring clamp are placed on the pick-and-place platform; a height sensor is disposed in the loading slow-transfer zone; and a CCD visual sensor is disposed on the pick-and-place mechanical arm. The method comprises the steps of S1, moving a transformer to be tested into the loading slow-transfer zone; S2:, sensing the height of the transformer and moving the transformer to be tested into the testzone; S3, adjusting the capture sensing height, obtaining the model type and the position and yaw angle information of the transformer; S4, connecting the wiring clamp and the automatic knob device with a binding post and a knob; S5, carrying out an automatic test; S6, putting the wiring clamp and the automatic knob device back to the pick-and-place platform; and S7, moving the conveying line forunloading subsequent products. The intelligent test line is safe, reliable, and accurate in testing, saves cost and has high degree of automation.
