IC tag mounting on a harness and harness mounting method

An IC chip and a minute antenna for conducting transmission with a weak radio wave are mounted on a male connector. An auxiliary antenna for amplifying the weak radio wave emitted by the minute antenna and transmitting the amplified radio wave is mounted on a female connector. If the male connector is fitted into the female connector normally, then the distance between the minute antenna and the auxiliary antenna becomes 1.0 mm or less, and consequently the weak radio wave transmitted by the minute antenna is amplified by the auxiliary antenna and transmitted to the outside. Unless fitting is conducted normally, then the distance between the minute antenna and the auxiliary antenna becomes longer than 1.0 mm, and consequently the weak radio wave emitted the minute antenna is not amplified and transmitted. By receiving the information stored on the IC chip, the fitting state of the connectors can be checked.

Synchronized Express and Local Trains for Urban Commuter Rail Systems

A computerized system and method of managing subway trains along a two-track subway line to allow express travel in combination with local service. Express trains catch up to local trains at express stations along the line, and provision is made to allow the express trains to physically or “virtually” pass the local train at those stations. Embodiments in which the express trains physically pass the local train include direct train-to-train transfer facilitated by side-by-side tracks at the express station occupying reduced footprint. In other embodiments, virtual passing is accomplished by changing the type of service provided by trains at express intervals: a local train “transforms” into an express train and vice versa. Embodiments enable passengers to transfer between trains at express stations so that these “relay” passengers can travel faster than any specific train.

Vehicular impact absorbing apparatus having cushion pins

A vehicular impact absorbing apparatus includes a pair of tubular guide rails having a guide slit longitudinally formed at the upper part of each guide rail fixed to the ground. Sliders are movably mounted in the guide rail at predetermined intervals, the upper part of each slider is laid on the upper part of the guide rail through the guide slit. Cushion units are mounted on the upper part of each slider. Each cushion unit is elastically deformed by vehicular impact while retracting along the guide rail. Cushion pins are mounted across the guide rails at predetermined intervals between the sliders that also absorb the kinetic energy of an impact by being broken by the rearward retracting slider. A stopper is installed around the rear end of the guide rail for stopping the retracting cushion units. A successive cushion and deceleration of the impact is possible in this arrangement.

Transit system

A transit system for individual vehicles includes a substantially enclosed guideway with a transit lane and a transition lane. Disposed along the guideway are selectively actuable portals, configured to allow substantially transverse ingress and egress of vehicles into the transition lane. The vehicles are configured for automatic control within the guideway and during ingress and egress, and may also be configured for independent control by a driver outside the guideway. In the transition lane the vehicles accelerate to a transit speed and merge into the adjacent transit lane. Upon approaching a selected destination portal, an individual vehicle merges back into the transition lane to decelerate for exit. The guidance system allows the vehicles to combine into controllably linked "trains" in the transit lane.
